Hi Nancy, good information here. Another thing I think is really cool about avast, is if you are hanging around your computer, and a virus update comes along, it will announce it, in it's own voice. Very cool.

No, the product will still update without registration. You won't need to insert your registration key until you have the product for sixty days. It will still work without registering until then. But they will email you your registration key, wich you can install by copying and pasting it into the registration window of the product. In program settings, you should uncheck the box that reads, select skin for simple user interface. After that, everything in the menu is accessible from within the system tray.
