Count me in for both learning and doing some teaching as well. I look forward
to this group.

Subject: [tabi] new iPhone/IOS device group being formed in Tallahassee
Hi all,
I recently have been speaking with Pete Lane (from the Blind Abilities podcast
team) about his involvement in forming the iPhone group for visually impaired
users in Jacksonville. He felt strongly that the blind community of any area
should have such a group where new users (actually all users of all levels) can
get together in person to learn from one another. He said everyone there
(including himself) has benefitted enormously from having such a group, which
meets twice a month at a public library.
I spoke with Liz Bowden and she agrees with Pete, and has offered to form our
Tally group! Now, she needs to hear from anyone who might be interested in
participating in such a group.
It will cover teaching very new users, as well as the "show and tell" of apps
and devices found by all users. Exactly when and where we'll meet has yet to
be determined, but the first step is to contact Liz to let her know of your
interest, and to ask her any questions you may have.
I'd also like it if anyone who is interested would mention their interest here
on TABI (and to tell others), as nothing succeeds like success, and it would
help quite a bit if everyone saw that we had a significant group of people
interested in this new group. I certainly plan to be there!
The email I have for Liz is:

Thanks for your help in spreading the word, and hopefully for showing up as
well.
