Hi, if you want the exact replacement that you had that came with your
device you can get it from apple. Just call 1-800-my apple and follow the
instructions. They do make a app that works with your wire headset to do
what you want . It is called Awareness headset app . See link below to it
as well as a couple of podcast on it.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/awareness-the-headphone-app/id389245456?mt=8

Now here is the first podcast on it and things has changed since this
podcast and became much more Vo friendly. See link below.

listen-on-your-ios-device/

Now here is a podcast talking about the changes in the app and making it Vo
friendly and cost. See link below and HTH

Hi Scott,

why don't you google the airdrives fit earbuds (their they ones which hang
outside of your ears) along with the term iphone or ipod (It's not clear
which you have). it could be they make a compatible model, and they are
great for allowing you to still hear ambient sound.

even if you don't find anything, try googling just on airdrives fit to see
how they describe their special ability to let you hear ambient noise, then
you could use those terms along with iphone or ipod to see if anyone makes
such earbuds.

good luck,

Chip

Subject: [tabi] iPhone headsets

Hello from down South on the East coast. I know this isn't exactly directly
on point for this list but I've recently misplaced the earbuds that came
with my iPhone and I'd like to know if anyone on the list can recommend a
replacement for them that are fully functional to make calls, control the
iPod, and still allow me to hear sounds around me when I'm out walking. It's
really important for the microphone not to pick up too much ambient noise so
that all the wind down here in Jupiter doesn't make it impossible to have a
conversation while walking with my puppy partner. my ability to hear
external sounds and simple comfort is next on my priority list. Of course
cost is an issue but I'd rather pay a little more for the right
headset/earbuds once than be dissatisfied with several sets of replacements
that don't work for me. Please let me know if you can offer any help, or
even if you know where I can find help off this list. Thanks so much!
Scott
