Hi everyone,
Just wanted to drop you a quick note - the move went smoothly! The Staff and
volunteers were amazing, the AMWAT movers were on time & efficient, and we
are definitely 100% moved to our new home now. In fact, it is even organized
enough we are ready to start giving tours to anyone who drops by tomorrow -
our first day there! Please feel free to drop by when you have a 10 minutes
to walk through (3071 Highland Oaks Terrace).
While many of our office things are still in boxes, the main areas (2
classrooms, low vision display and the Assistive Technology Lab) are open
for classes and students. Our sign is even up! Our deepest appreciation to
everyone for pulling together and making it happen so fast - I am extremely
impressed that we pulled off such a seamless transition.
The only detail that didn't go perfectly according to plan is that Comcast
failed to connect our Internet in the new building last week, as we thought
they were - lots of confusing miscommunication. Our phones are up and
running, though, thanks to Innovative Office Solutions (Scott Buchanan.)
Phone numbers and extentions remain the same. So if you have an immediate
need, please call the Lighthouse at 942-3658.
Once again - thank you all who lent thier support, came by and helped, and
already donated a number of crutial items we needed for client services.
Thank you to the staff who worked around the clock - and thank you most
especially to the Board who made this all possible!
