Hi Denyece,

I don't think his is; but you can buy usb headsets if you prefer them to
the kind which plug in to your audio card.

they can be a little more trouble to setup, because when you plug them
in, your system sees them as a new sound card. it doesn't automatically
start using them; you have to go into the sound option of the control
panel, with the usb headset plugged in, and tell the system that the usb
headset is the default sound device. then windows will start using it.

TeamTalk is another issue: it's default is not to use whatever windows
is using, but to have it's own choice for audio device. this is in the
preference option, in the sound tab. I believe you have to tell
TeamTalk the same thing: to use the usb headset and not the built-in
sound card.

this extra complexity offers you some extra flexibility: you could have
the teamtalk audio coming through the headset earphones, and at the same
time you could have your speech synthesizer coming out of your speakers,
if you found that more useful.

users with refreshable braille displays will probably find working with
TeamTalk even easier, since you're not trying to listen to a synthesizer
and the audio from the chat at the same time.

hth,

Chip
