Well, I guess it was Kevin's vote since he was on the board and he had the right to vote. Now it is our right to fill city hall at the commission hearings and I mean fill it. We Need to get all our friends to go also. There has been a lot said on the subject but we have one trump card left and that is showing up at city hall. I know from experience city commissioners take serious note when voters show up at there meetings.
Now for the disturbing news. It certainly suppresses me that the vote by the TAC was unanimous, apparently they didn't take our concerns very seriously and that fact is going to make it harder to defeat the change. I am disappointed that a citizen advisory committee didn't listen to who they are representing. I am pretty sure this was a done deal before it ever got started.

No, don't hate you but disappointed yes. You knew the concerns of the minority which is in this case is the (Blind community) and you did not stand up and represent us by voting NO! You know there is a saying, Don'tforget the little man! We don't ask for much just a bone with some meat lefton it every once in awhile! Some times you do what is right not what every one else wants you to do. The Right thing to do this case was to vote NO! Again don't hate you but very disappointed in you. Yes by the way I say if we can get just Saturday this is a start. But by know means the end. Just more of my thoughts. Too many things in my life have made me a bit too sensitive. Look, you all should know that the measure passed the TAC unanimously. Iknow that some of you were hoping I would vote no, and those people probablyhate me and will never talk to me again. As those present at the meeting can tell you, I have been asking tough questions. Well, believe it or not, I got some good responses. StarMetrowent out and got the city engineers involved, and tonight we, the TAC, weretold that the majority of the safety features would be brought on line before the NOVA 2010 plan comes on line. Even to the extent that 15 to 18of the audible signals will be set up. Also, I brought up putting "NO RIGHT ON RED" designations at all of the transfer points. No solid answer there, but they did say they would look into what they could do. I can say this much for the NOVA 2010 process, that a year ago I don't think the city engineers would have been as open to working with mass transit as they aretoday. This process has got more people working together than ever before. Finally, I am very concerned that if we do not start making some changes, even the unpopular ones, towards decentralizing the bus system, that we willbe left with a bus system in a few years that serves the students and notmuch else. What I don't want to do, is stop here. Mr. Garrison said to me, after being asked, that this is not an end to the changes, but a beginning. Your comments that Bruce Weaver and I took to the TAC and StarMetro, fueled the process of getting the city engineers involved. Now, keep the pressureon to continue to improve safety at all intersections. Maybe we can beatthe Dangerous by design label Tallahassee has been stamped with, but we have a long way to go. Do not give up on me, I am trying the best I know, to notgive up on you. Kevin Davis By the way, I found out that the implementation may be delayed yet even longer than December of this year by as much as three to eight months. ________________________________From: tabi-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:tabi-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On BehalfOf Sila Miller Sent: Thursday, January 28, 2010 9:13 PM To: tabi@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [tabi] Re: Saturday Mall idea Sorry if we were vicious, Kevin.
