*JOB OPENING*
The Lighthouse of the Big Bend is hiring a part-time Assistive Technology
Instructor to assess, evaluate and instruct individuals who are blind in the
following areas:
- computer familiarization,
- basic typing skills,
- screen magnification software,
- screen reader software,
- maintaining computer hardware & software, and
- Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software.
*REQUIREMENTS*: Qualified applicants MUST have a relevant Bachelor’s or
Master’s Degree in Visual Disabilities or a rehabilitation-related field, or
a computer/technology-related field, a minimum of 1 year experience working
with visual disabilities (or may substitute one year college in the field of
visual disabilities), excellent adaptive computer knowledge and skills, as
well as good oral and written communication skills. Familiarity with
databases preferred.
*WAGES*: $14-$18 per hour, 15-20 hours per week
