*JOB OPENINGS!*
The Lighthouse of the Big Bend in Tallahassee, FL is hiring* *staff to
provide instructional services to individuals who are blind or visually
impaired. Full-time positions at the Lighthouse include salary and
excellent benefits (100% health insurance, paid leave and holidays,
retirement program, life insurance.) The part-time positions are
approximately 20 hours per week, $14 - 18 per hour:
1. *O&M/Transition Specialist, full-time*: Provides orientation and
mobility instruction in adaptive travel skills to teenagers and adults who
are blind and visually impaired. Provides high quality instructional
services to assist teens who are blind or visually impaired with
“transitioning” to independence whether a job or college, including
adaptive travel skills, personal and home management, communications,
social services, vocational and recreation/leisure skills. Certification in
Orientation & Mobility required.
2. *Transition Specialist, part-time OR full-time*: Provides
instruction to students age 14-22 who are blind & visually impaired
including personal/home management, communication, social skills,
recreation & leisure, vocational skills, etc.
3. *Orientation and Mobility Specialist, part-time*: Provides
instruction in adaptive travel skills including street crossing to adults
who are blind and visually impaired; Certification in Orientation &
Mobility required.**
