Part time administrative position, 20 hours per week, $8 per hour.
Maintains both paper and electronic client case files, coordinates client
forms, staff attendance logs and activity sheets, audits files monthly to
ensure completeness, reconciles attendance logs with activity sheets with

*LIGHTHOUSE JOB DESCRIPTION*: Vocational Services / Assistive Technology
Specialist ****

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: *Assistant Director**

*WORK DIRECTON: *Works under the direction of the Vocational Services
Director

****

*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*

**·         **Travels within the eleven county area served by the
Lighthouse to serve Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) clients who are blind or
visually impaired at the Lighthouse facility, or in their home, school or
workplace.****

**·         **Initially conducts a Comprehensive Functional Assessment and
develops an individualized training plan, and then provides vocational
skills, computer and assistive technology instruction, and other skills
needed for job preparation for Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) clients who
are blind or visually impaired.****

**·         **Leads groups and/or classes on vocational training, computer
and assistive technology skills, and other skills needed for job
preparation. ****

**·         **Coordinates delivery of timely services with the Division of
Blind Services (DBS), other collaborating agencies and local employers,
including job readiness, job coaching and job accommodations.****

**·         **Communicates with the Vocational Services Director, other
Lighthouse Specialists and the Division of Blind Services (DBS) Counselors
regarding VR client progress.****

**·         **Facilitates all required paperwork and statistical data
related to individual VR client files and attendance logs as required by
the Lighthouse and DBS.****

**·         **Records VR client service delivery hours and case notes per
individual service plans in the Lighthouse database so that service
delivery data can be processed in a timely manner for billing requirements.*

***·         ***Maintains a positive working relationship with eye care
professionals, physicians, employers and other community agencies to
develop referral sources and employment resources.****

**·         **Assists with the orientation, training and supervision of new
staff, interns, practicum students and/or volunteers.****

**·         **Participates in VR client staffings with the Lighthouse
and/or DBS Staff.****

***·         ***Participates in activities and events to perform the
organizational mission.****

**·         **Contributes to continuous programmatic quality improvement by
innovating and/or seeking opportunities to promote professional growth.****

**·         **Adheres to the “Rehabilitation Teaching Code of Ethics” which
is included in the Lighthouse’s Personnel Policy.****

**·         **Performs other duties as assigned.****

*POSITION REQUIREMENTS: *****

**·         **Minimum of 1 year experience working with visual disabilities
(or one year college in field of visual disabilities) required.****

**·         **Experience with speech and magnification assistive technology
for individuals with visual impairments and ability to teach computer
skills including typing and computer applications such as word processing,
Excel, databases, email, and accessing the Internet.****

**·         **DBS Endorsement in Screen Magnification and Endorsement in
Speech Software required; may be obtained after employment.****

**·         **Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in a related
field such as visual disabilities, vocational rehabilitation counseling,
human services, etc. ****

**·         **Experience with Vocational Rehabilitation services.****

**·         **Excellent verbal and written communication skills.****

**·         **Level 2 background check****

*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*

***·        ***Maintains client case files ensuring files are accurate with
all required forms and signatures present.****

***·        ***Oversees the accurate completion of each Lighthouse
Specialist’s attendance logs, reconciling attendance logs with activity
sheets and invoices to ensure consistency. ****

***·        ***Follows up with each Lighthouse Specialist to obtain any
missing documents that need to be completed and ensures all requirements
for case file paperwork are met.****

***·        ***Audits files monthly to ensure completeness; during audit
track what is missing, and then record when each missing document is
obtained and file each document.****

***·        ***Inputs client document data into the Lighthouse database as
it is received, such as voter registration form responses.****

***·        ***Compiles quarterly voter registration form statistics.****

***·        ***Maintains positive working relationships with eye care
professionals, physicians and other community, agencies to develop referral
sources.****

***·        ***Participates in activities and events to perform the
organizational mission.****

***·        ***Answers the phone as needed and responds to service
requests/inquiries for client services.****

·    Contributes to continuous programmatic quality improvement by
innovating and/or seeking opportunities to promote professional growth.****

·    Adheres to the “Rehabilitation Teaching Code of Ethics” which is
included in the Lighthouse’s Personnel Policy.****

***·        ***Performs other duties as assigned.****

**·        **Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.****

**·        **Good computer skills, including knowledge of data entry,
