In my poking around the internet today (Thursday) around 2pm, I came across a
news channel (not local) with a time-lapse graphic of wind gusts.
I thought you might find this model of interest, keeping in mind that at a
certain point-- I *think* around 35 miles per hour-- large vehicles (like
public transit) are susceptible to the wind, and thus may be pulled off the
road.
Because this information was presented as a time-lapse map, I've done my best
to convert the data to text.
Keep in mind that this is the model that was shown Thursday at 2pm:
Wind gust estimates:
Fri night: 10mph
Sat AM 20mph
Sun 5AM 30mph
Sun 11am 40mph
Sun 9pm 50pmh
Mon 5-11am 60mph
Mon pm 50mph
Mon overnight 40mph
Rain outlook thru next week: 1-2 inches (3 inches max)
Also, I've heard that Tropical storm force winds (for Irma) extend 170 miles
out from the eye; Jacksonville is about 170 miles from Tallahassee.
Hurricane force winds extend 60 miles out from eye. (Again, this is as of 2pm
9/7/17.)
