Yes, support. But you still have laws and rules to go by. You can not just
jump up and start a loan company.

I never said people would not repay their loans (I did call it a loan fund
after all).  If I had somehow proposed something illegal (a stretch you
really had to work at to come up with that accusation), do you think the
Lighthouse would have expressed support for the idea?
 
as for the rest of your message,  well, I can certainly tell you couldn't
make it work.

        What you propose is totally unworkable; we were told of several
funds, that used to exist and had a fairly considerable amount of money,
fall flat on their faces because the funds were not administered
properly--you have to set up a nonprofit foundation of some kind first; you
need to find your funding sources--individual, corporate, etc.--you need to
set up a committee or board who will administer the fund and process
applications, etc. etc.
         
        I wish doing what you propose was as easy as you think but it is
not, and if we don't have re-payment, other funding sources will back out
because you are, in effect, giving grants rather than making loans.
         
        Are you delving into everyone's finances through some channel of
which I am not aware?  I personally don't know anyone in Tally who is
getting huge SSDI or Retirement checks, though I'll grant you there are
folks who don't have as much, and there probably ought to be some way to
verify an individual's financial status--that would mean some people could
not qualify because, even with a small-interest loan over a fair period of
time, will be more than they can afford.
        ]
        I will not involve myself in anything that is questionably legal--oh
yes, you do have to report to the 
        IRS-because what you propose sounds more like a grant program to me
with no financial accountability to the contributors or borrowers.
