Kevin Schwartz from Total Quality is one of my brother's friends. He does a
really good job. He has done a number of roofs for my family members and
they were quite satisfied.

Thank you so much Alexis! It's a wonderful thing to have such a reference
on hand, you never know when you'll need it.

I'll add our own references:

. We've recently had two new Carrier HVAC units installed by E&B
heating and Air, and Al (the owner) came to our house to discuss the job,
and gave us quite a custom suggestion when he saw that some practical
requirement would have created an unsightly pipe running down the outside of
our house . he found a creative way around this, and we're quite happy with
the work.

. We recently had to have a new roof installed, and we wanted a
particular shingle to be used (by GAF) due to its looks and its reviews for
durability. The GAF representative came to our house, and after helping us
to decide on the exact roofing shingle we were to use, he mentioned they had
a "master elite" program where they certified certain specific roofers in an
area for installations; and they (the roofing shingle company) were willing
to guarantee the work done by these roofers for the life of the house, even
if the roofer went out of business.

We used Kevin Schwartz (Total Quality Roofing). He also is a general
contractor, so he is able to certify the work done to your insurance
company, so that if you pay for the self-sealing barrier etc., you can then
get the approximate 5% discount on your home owners insurance (most roofers
aren't general contractors, so you would have to make separate arrangements
for this inspection after the work is done in order to get the certification
form to your insurance company).

(On this topic, a note here to mention that while Total Quality Roofing is
not involved with this, the city does have a program where they will lend
you the money for the cost of a new roof, and arrange for a contractor to
install it, and then bill you as part of your utility bill each month, if
you'll use one of their energy efficient shingles.)

Subject: [tabi] General Contractor Recommendation

I recently have purchased my first home and needed to have some work done.
I located a general contractor whom I've been very impressed with. His name
is Cliff Loughmiller. He came to my home in mid July to look at what I
wanted done. Within about a week, he provided the quote, which I found very
reasonable. Within a matter of days, Mr. Loughmiller and his team began
work on the projects. The main project was completed early this week, and
I'm very impressed with his work.

Mr. Loughmiller is always willing to answer questions and explain why
something was done a certain way. He also consults with the home owner at
each step of the process in order to determine your desire or need for that
portion of the project. If a certain choice is better for safety or any
other reason, he will explain why he feels the choice is better. He won't
make that choice but will allow the owner to choose based on the information

Mr. Loughmiller cares very much for his customers by how he treats each
customer with respect and dignity. His first priority is the customer's
safety and comfort while the work is being completed. For example, he came
to my home each evening after the day's work to inspect and make sure
materials were removed from the walking path and placed in a safe area. In
fact, one day, the plumber was very close to leaving without cleaning up his
mess. I was told that he would have been quite upset if the plumber had
left without cleaning up.

If anyone has work requiring the expertise of a general contractor, I would
recommend Cliff Loughmiller's service. His company is KLL Contracting. If
anyone would like his contact information, please e-mail me off list, and I
will be happy to provide this information.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
