Barbara,I called the number listed in the notice and there were 5 choices available, one of which included Braille copies. I personally chose the option for future notices to include a compact disk with a MS Word document for me to read. If my memory serves me the options were: 1. print notices by certified 1st class mail; 2. print notices which require a signature by certified first class mail; 3. print notices accompanied by a telephone call within 5 business days for someone to read the notice to you; 4. print notices with an accompanying Braille copy; and 5. print notices with an accompanying compact disk which will include the notice in MS Word format.

The letter referred to several choices. It mentioned only 2 choices. Shouldn't another choice be in braille?Barbara----- Original Message ----- From: "Allison and Chip Orange" <acorange@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <tabi@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, January 06, 2010 9:27 PMSubject: [tabi] FW: [fcb-l] SSA's Response to Losing the Class Action Suit:Hi all, thought those receiving benefits from the SSA would like the phone number and info below. The other choice would be to scanthe thing, using equipment that many people can't afford If anyone cares, the phone number to make your format choice is: 1-877-708-1776. If you've applied for benefits, or are currently receiving them, use that number and enjoy the time spent at it. _______________________________________________ fcb-l mailing list fcb-l@xxxxxxx http://www.acb.org/mailman/listinfo/fcb-lCheck out the TABI resource web page at http://acorange.home.comcast.net/TABIand please make suggestions for new material.if you'd like to unsubscribe you can do so through the freelists.org web interface, or by sending an email to the address tabi-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" in the subject.Check out the TABI resource web page at http://acorange.home.comcast.net/TABIand please make suggestions for new material.if you'd like to unsubscribe you can do so through the freelists.org web interface, or by sending an email to the address tabi-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" in the subject.
