Yes, they absolutely did ... I remember several years ago when someone got a
copy of the minutes of one of their meetings where they were planning to bring
in Good Will to take over rehab for the Palm Beach County area, even though
there was already a CRP there started by, and operated by, blind people; FAASB
would not allow them to join.

We wanted to let you know that the Vision Summit planned for 2016 has
been cancelled. As discussed previously, and finally concluded, FAASB,
consumer groups (FL. NFB and ACB), as well as other stakeholders have
agreed that the Vision Summit no longer really accomplishes the goal of
creating greater awareness about visual impairment with our Florida
FAASB will be working on a plan to accomplish this goal, possibly with
regional summits or activities. FAASB hopes for the continual and
important involvement of DBS as we move forward to ensure greater
awareness of the needs of people with vision loss continues.
We hope this does not inconvenience DBS or the Fl. Rehab Council in any
