"ZOOMING" NPPC QUICK GUIDE
Signing In
In order to be eligible to vote in NPPC elections, community members are
required to sign in to at least one meeting in the prior 12 months leading up
to an election.
Since Zoom keeps record of all those who join the meeting, you simply need to
attend a meeting in order to “sign in"; however, participants must use their
real first and last name when registering AND when joining the meeting.
Giving Public Comment
Upon entering into the Zoom meeting all participants will be muted by default.
Once public comment begins on an action item we will ask those who wish to
comment to to use the “raise hand” feature in Zoom. This will indicate to the
host that you would like to be unmuted. The host will let you know when you
have permission to speak and you must ensure you are unmuted. After you
allocated time to give comment has passed, the host will re-mute you.
Please review this feature to ensure you feel comfortable giving public
comment! How to use Zoom’s “Raise Hand” Feature
For those joining using phone audio only: After those using the Zoom app have
given public comment we will briefly unmute the phone users and ask if anyone
else would like to give public comment. Should multiple phone-only users speak
at the same time, we will call you out one-by-one to speak.
