Hello Friends of Switzer Canyon
The new ranger for Switzer Canyon is Senior Ranger Levi Dean - we took a tour
of Switzer Canyon today in the rain. Ranger Levi helpfully requested a work
ticket for the Cape-ivy (Delairea odorata) infestation south of Redwood. This
weed is a high priority for abatement since it can spread rapidly over shrubs,
excluding light which eventually kills them.
By the way, there is an increase in illegal camping in Switzer canyon. If you
see a tent or other structure, please call the ranger at (619) 235-5262. A city
crew will give notice to vacate and subsequently clean up the camp.
