council office, not the MND.
Opportunities for carbon mitigation and water quality seem within scope though!

Hi Carrie,
One more thing. You probably remember that the path near the trail streambed
crossing at the bottom of the east side of Switzer eroded heavily when flooding
from a heavy rain breached the streambed near the houses on the Palm extension
and made its way over the trail. When the city repaired this erosion, it
widened the trail into a road. Was there any review of this? Will the new
project return the trail back to its original status? I fear more roads will
replace trails during the proposed construction effort. Is the Neg. Dec. a time
to discuss this issue? Also the missed opportunity to consider carbon
sequestration (that you alluded to in your letter with the proposal for
riparian planting) and toxin absorption by plants (ocean water quality) to help
clean runoff. And open space value (and tourism) of the canyons--that would be
enhanced by a rejuvenated riparian area.
