My grain casting technique is less than perfect and I don't like to cut
grains. I cast a few grains .25 shorter in length and mix-n-match until I
have the correct length. This has worked out well for me and has not caused
any issues in 38 and 54mm sizes.

Does everyone cast their grains to exactly the correct / finished length?
Or, do you shoot long and cut them to size after they harden?
If you do trim / cut to length, how?
I'm guessing that grain length isn't as critical as I'm making it out to
be, especially if the ends of the grains are designed to be uninhibited.
