Hmm if you select one channel and try to decrease the volume or anything else, both channels are proceeded. Hi Mika, neal, You can select the left channel by going to the "edit" menu, the "selection" and choos "select the left channel" or press ctrl + l. For the right channel it's ctrl + r. Maybe this helps... I'm going to be embarrassed if SR already has it. Sound Forge, I should stop mentioning that beast on this list, has an ability to select mono both with the extra benefit of telling it which channel or channels you want to use. This comes in handy in something like the situation in the message below, or when I record only in one channel of my recorder for a mono recording and the other channel contains the hiss of the mike pre-amp with no mike plugged into it. So, it would be nice, in my example, to only have the left channel be used as the mono channel because I would not be picking up the extra hiss. Sometimes you may want the right channel and sometimes both in the mono end result. One of the channels (right) side sounds very good, but the left side you can barely hear anything. Is there a way to extract the right channel so that I could use that one, and discard the poorer sounding left channel. FYI in the end a mono recording will be fine we don't need stereo in the final mp3 to be released. Thank you, Mika
