Hi Rob,
I forgot about that, thanks!
I guess if the rebooting situation comes up again and I have Remember Place
turned on I can just go to the files menu and hit 1 which will open the last
file played and it will go to the mark.
That will be easier than,
1 hit g and remember the number.
2 hit enter to get back to the file.
3 hit alt f to get to files menu.
4 hit 1 to load the last file played.
5 hit g
6 type in the number.
7 hit enter.
Thanks,
Phil

Do you use the Remember Place in Files option? This may not be exactly what you want, but it will get the job done. Its on the General page of the Settings dialog.

In the second I am only suggesting background loading as an option not as the default setting. Thanks, Phil

You have a lot of questions; let's try to take them one at a time.
1. If one reboots a computer with an open file handle, I wouldthe result you got. So, no! SR should do what it does. Its kind oflikeoftaking a disk out of the drive while reading it, but worse, because there is no chance of recovery.
2. We could consider background decoding. There are a lot of issues, and I don't know that it would be useful for that many people. A lottimes, random access to the open MP3 file is really all you need; itmayclearnot even be worth decoding.

After she rebooted and the drive was now available I hit enter tomp3the OK box and tried to continue listening. I still got the same error message. I was able to check the current time with g, then re-load the file and continue from that point but shouldn't SR have done that automatically? I suspect that by SR streaming the file in a little at a time theWavecan be read more quickly than if it was all loaded into memory which Goldto
does. We have a two computer network and her one is the server.
Would it be possible to have an option so that while I am listeningcopyinga podcast, in the background SR is also loading it into doc 1 orit to my computer?
Thanks, Phil
