Hello,

New to the list, please be patient.

I took delivery a couple evenings ago of an NEC VT-540 (LCD) projector. Colors
are nice and bright, blacks the expected gray.

Problem is this: very discernable horizontal lines start at the bottom of the
image and scan upwards off the top. They move at a rate that takes them bottom
to top in three-four seconds, more or less. Sometimes there's two lines that
basically split the screen into thirds, sometimes a couple lines are much closer
together.

With the PS2 input, many parts of the image are jittering.

The noted lines are visible from all inputs, but none are visible when no
powered
input is supplied to the projector - that is, the "NEC" logo is bright and
clear,
with no scanning lines, and no jitter.

My video receiver amp is a Marantz SR7000.
Inputs are:

------------------------------------------------
VHS deck via S-video through the amp/S-video to projector,

Sony PS2 via a standard RCA jack cable directly to the VT-540 video input,

Marantz DV7100 DVD player via S-video through amp, and

co-ax cabling from Satellite decks into the VHS deck.
---------------------------------------

More info needed?

Any ideas on how to eliminate these scanning lines?

Power source is not conditioned, but directly out of wall.

Thanks!
