The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on BBC Online

Today's site presents the irrepressible Douglas Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide
to the Galaxy". Gentle Subscribers who already know that the "The Ultimate
answer to Life, the Universe and Everything is ... 42" and have the T-shirt
to prove it, will feel at home at this site while those who have yet to
discover the pleasures of Douglas Adams will find some fascinating material
to get them started.

"All about Hitchhiker's and Douglas Adams, including video and audio clips
from the original radio and TV series, interviews, picture galleries, fun
quizzes and a screensaver for you to download."

"One morning, [Arthur Dent] woke up with a hangover to discover his house
being demolished. As he lay in front of the bulldozers, his friend Ford
Prefect took him to the pub and revealed that he was an alien. ... Shortly
after this, his native planet was destroyed to make way for a hyperspace
bypass." - from the website

The site features a Guide to the Guide, with entries on topics such as
Vogons, Zaphod Beeblebrox, Slartibartfast and Babel Fish. There's also a
biography of the late Douglas Adams, a poet's corner and a series of
animations by Rod Lord for the TV series, available for personal use as a
screensaver.
