"Brilliant orange, bright blue, dazzling red -- frogs come in an astonishing array of colors. This vivid assortment of hues hints at the remarkable diversity that exists among the frog species inhabiting the globe. ... Explore the rich and colorful diversity of frogs, and learn about their evolution and biology and the threats they face in the world's changing environments." - from the website Opening with a welcoming frog chorus, the exhibit's introduction notes the adaptability of the species but also sounds a warning before going on to explain the frog's biological characteristics. Further sections showcase a number of different types of frogs, from the well-known American bullfrog to the decidedly peculiar Vietnamese mossy frog, while another section provides surprising information on poisonous members of the species. Additional topics document reproduction, frog life and their relationship to the ecosystems they inhabit. Although the "frogcam" is not operational, the frog calls section offers the sounds of a number of Madagascar amphibians.
