Hello Fred,
thanks for bringing here. its nourishing for the mind.
this article lives us with more queries than answers.
are persons with disabilities in employment in comfort zones?
what are the achievement we have gotten?
are they substantial to warranted change or its just cosmetic?
all Blind fellows in senior positions in government what have you done
to ensure real change takes place!
I even think we don't have anyone senior!can we have a survey?

hallo comrades,
I hope this e-mail finds you well. According to me, criticism has no
place, since it does more harm than good: hardening and radicallizing
the criticised. The most important thing is SELFSEARCH and FEEDBACK
FOR IMPROVEMENT. 1 secret used by the physically impaired persons to
be a step ahead of us is their unity, if 1 of them has a problem, they
all gung up in his/her support. On the contrary, we, the vissually
impaireds add more pain to the allready troubled fellow by attaching a
negative comment that the VI persons like complaining alot even
without looking at the substance of the issues raised. I have fallen
victim of this very many times. Most of our fellows occupying key
positions in mostly the public sector shie from championing for the
disability related agendas. this is probably the reason why the
government fails to give some more of our persons those big positions,
since those who were there before or those who are there have not made
a mark, or their pressence felt in a good way. Ask your self
: why do we have most of the sections of the persons with disability
act not implemented or operationalised from 2003 up to today? How
comes most of the public sectors or institutions have no disability
policies in place?
Don't we have some of our people in those sectors?
it is a challenge to all of us to ensure that we make a mark wherever
we are and make atleast minimal efforts to have the disability
policies in our sectors. The article is great. it addresses some of
the issues I have been trying to address in the education sector,
especially the accessibility of instructional materials to the
vissually impaired people. I wish all of you a good day.
