AFUB meets Embassies of Egypt, Zimbabwe and Burundi in Kenya as the African
Disability Protocol ratification campaign intensifies

On the 19th of October AFUB was honoured to be received by His Excellency
Kelebert Nkomani, Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to Kenya who
commended AFUB for its noble cause. His Excellency indicated that he would
share the message on the ADP ratification with his government.

There were also similar commitments from the Embassy of the Republic of
Burundi during a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Burundi H.E
Hon. Réne Barampama on 3rd of November. AFUB thanks the embassies for their
commitment to discuss with respective governments on ADP ratification.

AFUB also met with His Excellency Mahmoud Ali Talaat, Ambassador of the Arab
Republic of Egypt on the 24th of October 2017. His Excellency whose
government has made great strides in embracing inclusion for persons with
disabilities in Egypt committed to discussing ratification of the protocol
with his countrys authorities and was optimistic that his country would be
among the first to ratify the protocol.  AFUB is grateful to his Excellency
for his warm reception and commitment to support AFUB in this process.

The African Disability Protocol is an African protocol that ensures
inclusion of persons with disabilities in Africa without discrimination.
AFUBs campaigns to get 15 member states to commit to ratifying the protocol
when it opens in early 2018, and we call on all African nations to commit to
this protocol.

There are indications to meet the High Commission of South Africa among
other Embassies in the month of November.
