Hi Jason, thanks for the info. I think Ken's question was more... obviously a
player serving a penalty has to sit starting game #1... but does that player
also have to burn one of those 13 active roster spots for that game (or can you
make him inactive and replace with another player from your 15 man roster)?

I meant to say that you can have UP to 13 players for any single game. You can
have 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 players active for a single game. Eight might be
cutting it short and we need to add a specific number for next season. But if
you have 8 players that play a lot of position it probably could work out.

We are going with 15 player playoff rosters like the NBA is currently doing,
and then you have to have 13 active for any one game of the playoffs.
All players with penalties have to sit starting game 1.

Thanks for your patience while I have been working to get round 1 started. You
will find the following first round matchups below. Good luck to each coach and

Round 1 Details:
Days: 1-7
Series Deadline: 05.28.2022 (11:59 PM CDT)
While the playoffs are not much different than the regular season, I will
provide some guidelines for the playoffs:
(1) First of all, ALL gameplans must be sent out to the league and not
just to your opponent. This allows me and anyone else helping to monitor the
progression in each series. When I receive a gameplan, I enter the date of the
game along with GPL next to the line for that game (Game 1 at DAY – Rockford
000 Daytona 000 – 05.08.2022 GPL). When that game has been played, I will
remove the GPL and update the date the game was played (Game 1 at DAY –
Rockford 000 Daytona 000 – 05.09.2022). And then I send out a league update
with the below matchups, scores, and dates to help you follow along with the
playoffs.
(2) Just as in the regular season, the same 3 files are required for
your gameplans to count: .GFL Gamefile, .HTML Boxscore, and .TXT Play-by-play.
If you do not send in one of these files we are going to ask you to send in
any missing file.
(3) Players are limited to the number of playoff games in a series that
they are eligible to play based on the number of their regular season games:
(a) 60-82 games – 7 playoff games
(b) 51-59 games – 6 playoff games
(c) 42-50 games – 5 playoff games
(d) 33-41 games – 4 playoff games
(e) 24-32 games – 3 playoff games
(f) 15-23 games – 2 playoff games
(g) 1-14 games – 1 playoff game
(4) In order to be eligible to play in the playoffs a player must meet
either of the following minutes and games requirement:
(a) Played 160 minutes and 16 games
(b) Played 300 minutes with no games played limit
(5) Teams will not be reseeded after each round. You can expect to play
one of their two teams in your bracket.
(6) All series are of the 2-2-1-1-1 format.
(7) If you and your opponent choose to play head to head using netplay,
please let me know so that I can send you a league backup with the rule “Home
Court Advantage” is turned on.
Gameplan Restrictions for Review:
- After you have received a gameplan for a game you may analyze it as much
as you want, but you may not play a “practice game” with it until after you
have used it in a completed league game. After a gameplan has been used in an
official game you may use it in as many unofficial games as you desire.
- You may not start a game, stop it, and then restart the game from scratch.
If you want to view the lineup or defensive profile shortly before playing a
game use the following procedure: From Game, New Scheduled, highlight the game
setting it to manual, hit continue on the Game Preference Screen, and then
enter the Computer Manager for the away team. When you hit OK the game will
take you to the home team Computer Manager. At this point hit Cancel and you
will be taken to the Main Menu. From the Team Menu you can view the gameplan
and defensive profile.
- A Player must be rated at a given position in order to play that position
on offense. The position each player is able to play will be listed on the
roster tab in the workbook (a PG may not play SG and a SG may not play PG
unless rated to do so and on the rosters).
- If a player is rated a “1” or higher at a position he may play there as
many minutes at that position within the limits of his total minutes over the
entire season.
- A player with 100% as rated by the game company under INPCT in the
Computer Manager/Player Profile is only eligible to be positioned inside on
offense. This player can not be positioned outside. A player rated 0% under
INPCT is only eligible to be positioned outside on offense. This player can not
be positioned inside.
- You may adjust the minutes in the Minutes Grid under Computer Manager,
Player Profile. However, you can not place minutes in a position that a player
is not rated to play. Also, the total minutes in the grid cannot exceed a
player’s minutes per game listed on the roster file. Minutes per game is
determined as follows: total minutes divided by games, if the decimal equals
0.5 or greater round up and if it’s less than 0.5 round down.
- Other than the GP (games played) which may not be changed in the Player
Profile, you may change the GS, INPCT (except players rated 100% or 0%),
STLSHT, BK (now should be working in the V9), Minutes Grid, Outside Shot
preference, and Switch preference.
- Players must be rated at a given position in order to defend that
position. The only exceptions to this are the following: a player positioned at
PG on offense may defend the SG and the SG on offense may defend the PG while a
player positioned at the LF on offense may defend the C and the C on offense
may defend the LF. Be careful as many times when you use “Let the Computer
Suggest” these restrictions won’t be recognized and need to be manually
adjusted or corrected.
- A team may not press when holding a 10 or more point lead in the game. If
after scoring the lead becomes 10 or more points, you must call a timeout at
the next available opportunity to take the press off by calling a timeout.
- The press may only be used in 12 of the 48 game regulation minutes and 2
minutes of every overtime period.
- In home games against a gameplan a team must have either the LF or C (or
both) positioned inside on offense during the whole game. This is to prevent
home teams from eliminating the block man for the road team. Should the
gameplan include a feature to maintain the block man, this restriction will be
removed. This restriction does not apply to games played by netplay or
face-to-face.
- If it can be shown that a coach has not used these game play restrictions,
the coach will be asked to replay the game.
- If either an ineligible player or an inappropriate strategy was used in a
game it will need to be replayed with correct players or appropriate
strategies.
