This was one of the closest games I have ever played. SCO's biggest lead
was 6 and Lake K's was 4. Lake K led 32-31 after one quarter and SCO led
62-61 at halftime. The teams were tied 89-89 after three quarters. Five
times in the 4th, Lake K held their biggest lead of 4. The game was tied
112-112, 114-114, 117-117, 119-119, and 120-120. Anderson fouled out with
1:14 left and that brought in McKinnie who drained a three on a blank 3
with 17 seconds left to put SCO up 123-120. Lake K called their last
timeout and ran a play for Thompson who missed the tying three on a blank 8
with 7 seconds left. Lake K let the play continue rather than foul hoping
for a FB turnover but SCO passed up the shot to run clock. Lake K fouled
intentionally with 3 seconds left and SCO missed both FT's! Lake K had a
choice of a halfcourt shot or to continue not knowing if there was enough
time for a play. We decided to continue and was able to get another play
but unfortunately it was an Ingles dazzler and did not give us a shot at a
tying three. Lake K loses 123-122 in the only case of being mad at getting
a dazzler.
Griffin scored a game high 43 points while Harrell was slowed by Drummond
but still made 11 of 13 FG's for 24 points. Leonard led SCO with 38 points
and a game high 9 rebounds. Holiday dished out a game high 12 assists.
Both teams made 7 three pointers though SCo attempt seven more of them.
