Hello Coaches,
Great job to everyone for your efforts to get through both drafts. I know it
was a grind and everyone did well. It is awesome to serve everyone of you in
the league. Sure looking forward to playing games against your teams. But
before I create the schedule and we start playing some games, I need your Games
Missed List, which is a detailed list of which games (1-82) that each player is
to miss for the season. A player that plays 60 games needs to miss 22 games.
The only restrictions is that I do not want coaches to break up games into more
than 5 groups since we use 5 blocks for the regular season (1-5, 18-22, 38-42,
58-62, 78-82), . The less groups that you separate your games into the less
trouble you will have during the season in keeping track. I also like to group
a couple of my players together. If I have two players that both miss 10 games
and I feel that they could both misses games at the time time, then I will give
them the same missed games. Or if I have two players that add up to a third
player, I will group the first two players to the third. My goal is always to
get the least number of different lineup for the season if possible.
The attached file is an excel file that I have been using in the GCCBA
(Classic80) as it gives me a visual of the games and tells me how many minutes
I have for each game where you need 48 x 5 = 240 minutes. To the right of the
graph you will see the list, but you manually need to edit the games for each
player to miss in one of the columns.
Finally, please send me your Games Missed List in ALPHABETICAL order and do NOT
send it in an image. I want to be able to just copy it and paste it into excel
so that it aligns up with the players on your roster, and I am unable to do so
if it is not in alphabetical order or as an image.
Every team in the league has 15 players and why we didn’t run the supplemental
round. If anyone wants to drop a player and add another for whatever reason,
please let me know (and the whole league) through a league-wide email – do not
email me privately. Then the first person to respond in wanting the player you
placed back into the free agents will have the first opportunity and so on down
the line. If you email me directly it is not fair to others in the league if I
pick up your player and it would not be fair to not allow me the same
opportunity as others in the league.
Let me know if you have any questions. I will (hopefully) be going through
Games Missed Lists for corrections, working on the schedule (after I send out
mine GML), and continuing work on the constitution….we at least need a set of
game restrictions and procedures for gameplans and game results. I have really
been struggling to write up a detailed constitution but will push through this
last week so we have something down on paper.
