Lake K scored the first 10 points of the game including the first 8 by
Smart all on FB shots or FB dazzlers. The lead reached as high as 16 late
in the first quarter, and Lake K led 36-23 after 12 minutes. Sexton and
Smart each scored 10 points in the first quarter and Smart also had 4
steals. In the second quarter, MIN got the lead down to 8 three times but
again Lake K reached a 16 point lead late in the quarter, and at the half
Lake K was up 66-51.
Four minutes into the 3rd quarter, Lake K had the lead up to 18. But
without any big runs, seven minutes later, MIN cut the lead all the way
down to one at 88-87 and turned it over on the break with a chance to take
the lead. After three quarters, Lake K barely led 90-88. MIN took their
biggest lead of the game early in the 4th at 95-91. Neither team led by
more than 3 for the next ten minutes. The lead changed hands 15 times over
this time. 12 of the final 14 points scored by both teams combined came
from the FT line. Lake K ended the game on a 10-1 run to win 123-117.
Walker scored a game high 29 points and Sexton chipped in another 25. But
only two other MIN players scored in double figures. Lake K had three
players with 20+ points and six in double figures. Harrell came off the
bench to score 21 points in 21 minutes. Ingles also got 21 points. Smart
scored 20 along with 5 steals. Gobert had a game high 16 rebounds.
