Game 4 - KOH @ Lake K
In the first quarter, both teams missed two FB shots in the first minute.
Anunoby made two FT's and Porzingis made 1 of 2 FT's. Ingram's first pass
was not a dazzler but an open pass, but Mann hit the open jumper on a blank
10 anyway. Haliburton scored on the break and then Ingram did get his 4-8
dazzlers. Porzingis made two FT's and Haliburton scored on the break to
give Lake K their first lead of the game at 7-6. Bryant made 1 of 2 FT's
to tie it at 7-7 and Ingram scored on an offensive rebound of the second
missed FT for a reverse three point play. Fox tied it on a drive and got a
FB dazzler to regain the lead. Ingram hit a three on a blank 11 and
Porzingis scored inside as the lead kept changing hands. Mann hit a jumper
on a switch and Ingram hit a three on the break. Porzingis scored inside
on a switch only because he was open to cut it to 17-15. Ingram hit
another three on a blank 3 but Fox scored on the break. Graham made two
FT's and Ingram missed a jumper, got his own rebound and got blocked, but
Cauley-Stein got that rebound and scored on a D-8. Fox got a hoop and some
harm to cut it to 24-20 with 3:20 left. Kennard scored on the break but
Bam got his first dazzler. Fox made 1 of 2 FT's and scored on a drive to
cut it to 26-25 with 2:01 left. KOH got a 24 sec violation but Strus
missed an X 1-15 that came up 17. A loose ball foul was going to be FT's
for either team and it was called on Lake K with Bam making both FT's. Fox
scored on a drive with an X-5 against a 2-5,11 defender. Bam scored inside
on a switch only because he was open and Strus hit a jumper. With one
second left Dort got fouled on a three after yet another offensive rebound
for KOH and he made 2 of the 3 FT's to make it 32-29 KOH after 12 minutes.
KOH led 6-0 in offensive rebounds and was dominating the glass. KOH was 3
for 8 from three while Lake K was 0 for 4. KOH led 9-5 in made FT's while
both teams were called for 6 fouls. There was amazingly one only turnover
in the entire quarter and it was a Fox FB pass that landed in his 1-4
range. Fox did have a game high 12 points while Ingram led KOH with 11.
No one else for either team scored in double figures. Lake K led 10-0 in FB
scoring.
In the second quarter, Len scored inside on a switch only because he was
open. Bam got a dazzler and Ingram hit a jumper. Both teams got 24 sec
violations. Washington scored on Lake K's first offensive rebound of the
game. Graham hit a three on a switch with a D-9 to make it 39-33. Ingram
hit a three on a blank 4 and Porzingis hit Lake K's first three on a blank
5. Ingram scored on a switch only because he was open and Porzingis scored
inside. Haliburton missed a tech FT. Graham hit another three on a blank
5. Fox made 1 of 2 FT's and got a FB dazzler. Bryant scored inside and
Turner hit a three on a D-9. Dort scored on a drive and Porzingis scored
inside. Fox got a FB dazzler to cut it to 51-48 and then Fox scored on the
break to make it a Van Halen score of 51-50 with 2:38 left in the half.
Cauley-Stein got blocked but got his own rebound and scored. Haliburton
found his 2-3 dazzlers but Bryant scored inside. Turner missed a three on
the break but Porzingis tipped in the miss. Fox turned it over the break
with a chance for the lead and on the other end Dort got fouled on another
three and again made 2 of 3 FT's. Porter made 1 of 2 FT's and Ingram
missed a three with two seconds left. At the half, KOH was clinging to a
57-55 lead. Ingram was the only double digit scorer for KOH but had a game
high 20 points. Fox led Lake K with 17 and Porzingis added 16. Lake K was
out shooting KOH 51% to 40% from the field but KOH was 6 for 18 from three
to only 2 for 10 for Lake K. KOH still led 8-5 in offensive rebounds but
Lake K had now caught them in total rebounds. There were only three fouls
called the entire quarter with two on KOH and one on Lake K. Only 4
turnovers for Lake K was KOH incredibly only had 1.
In the third quarter, Bam scored on an offensive rebound and Fox scored on
a drive. Ingram hit a jumper and Anunoby scored on the break. KOH got
another reverse three point play when Anunoby made 1 of 2 FT's and Bryant
tipped in the miss toi match KOH's biggest lead so far of nine at 66-57.
Carter-Williams scored on a drive and Ingram hit another jumper.
Carter-Williams and Bam traded dazzlers. Lake K kept bricking 3's and
Ingram scored on the break to make it a double digit lead for the first
time at 72-61. Bam made 1 of 2 FT's and Mann scored on the break to make
it 75-61. Turner scored inside only because he received an open pass and
Ingram hit another jumper. Mann scored on an offensive rebound and KOH
missed three shots to extend the lead further before Haliburton scored on
the break. Ingram hit a three and Fox scored on a drive. Even a double
team could not stop Ingram and he hit another jumper. Porter missed a
three and missed the tip in leading to an Ingram FB dazzler. Bam got a
hoop and some harm to push the lead to over 20 for the first time at 89-67,
a 21-6 KOH run over a six minute span. Lee got a dazzler but Bam scored
inside . Porter hit a three but Bam got another and-one. Dort hit a three
on a D-9 to make it a 25 point lead at 97-72. Dort scored on a drive and
Turner scored inside on a switch. Stewart made two FT's and Turner hit a
three. Bam got a dazzler and Lake K could not take a shot in the last 15
seconds. A disastrous third quarter for the home team allowing KOH to
score an amazing 46 points and take a 103-77 lead into the 4th. KOH went
from 40% in the first half FG shooting (20 for 50) to 52% now after making
19 of 25 FG's in the quarter! KOH was now way ahead in rebounds again and
still only had one turnover! Fox was leading Lake K with 23 points but
Ingram was MVP-like with 35 points in 22 minutes even with a lot of double
teaming.
In the 4th, Fox scored on the break but Bam made two FT's. Porzingis
scored inside but Stewart scored on an offensive rebound. Porzingis scored
inside but Graham got fouled on a three and made 2 of 3. Fox hit a three
but Bam scored on an offensive rebound. Porter missed a three but somehow
tipped in his own miss. Stewart scored on yet another offensive rebound.
Fox missed two FT's and Stewart scored on yet another offensive rebound.
Porter scored on an offensive rebound but Ingram got a FB dazzler. Fox
scored on a drive and Bam made two FT's. Dort scored on an offensive
rebound and Washington hit a three. Anunoby made 2 FT's and Len scored
inside to get Lake K to the century mark as a small consolation. With two
seconds left, Bam got another dazzler to cap the scoring. KOH embarrasses
Lake K on their home court 125-100.
Ingram let off the gams pedal in the 4th but still finished with a game
high 35 points. Bam almost reached a triple double with 21 points, 10
rebounds, and 8 assists. Six KOH players scored in double figures. Fox
led Lake K with 33 points. All five Lake K starters scored in double
figures with Porter grabbing a game high 15 rebounds. KOH grabbed 19
offensive rebounds and only had 4 turnovers the entire game. Lake K had
almost half of their 11 turnovers in the 4th and still outscored KOH 23-22,
but it was way too little, way too late.
