In the first period, Jordan missed the first shot of the game thanks to
Gobert's blank defense. Then Ingles got a dazzler on Lake K's first
possession. Lowry made two FT's but Gobert got fouled on an offensive
rebound and made both FT's. Seconds later, Jordan got an offensive foul
for his 2nd foul in 10 seconds and Jokic came in earlier than usual.
Ingles got another dazzler but Jokic got one too on the other end. Curry
hit a jumper when shooting a 3 was not an option but Jokic got another
dazzler. Griffin got a hoop and some harm but missed the FT. Jokic scored
inside on a D-6 but Curry answered on a switch getting a hoop and some harm
and drawing the first foul on Jokic. He made the FT for a 13-8 lead.
Jokic got a D-7 on a switch which would have been a miss not on a switch
and Gobert couldn't get his 1-14 blocks for a bucket instead. Curry scored
on an X-10 switch against a 2-7, 10 defender. After Ingles missed his
dazzlers, Jokic scored inside on a blank 6. Griffin scored inside but
Jokic again got a blank 6 inside. Griffin scored inside on a D-5 but Ibaka
got fouled on a three and made all three. Griffin got a dazzler and this
time Jokic's D-7 was an automatic miss. But Ibaka tipped in the miss.
Gobert got fouled again on another off reb and this drew the second foul on
Jokic, He made 1 of 2 FT's for 21-18 lead. Adebayo came in for the foul
trouble bigs and got an X-4 against Gobert's blank defense. Pondexter got
fouled on the break the other way and made both FT's including one 10.
After a turnover action card, an Opp Def 39 sent Smart to the line with ANA
over the limit. He made both FT's again getting a 10 to fall for a 26-19
lead, the biggest so far. Monk missed a three and Harrell scored on the
break with a D-7. Monk missed on a drive and Smart scored on the break
with a blank 10, and 30-19 lead. Murray stopped the 9-0 run with a hoop
and some harm. Gobert scored inside on a switch but Murray got an X1-5 to
fall on a 3. Gobert scored on another switch but Monk scored on a drive.
Mason scored on a jumper only because he got an open pass from Smart but
Dedmon scored inside as the teams were just trading baskets now. After
both teams missed, Mason got a FB dazzler for a 38-28 lead. Another
turnover action card for ANA and Gobert made two FT's including an 11.
Ibaka scored on a blank 5 only because it was a switch. Murray barely
missed a three on a blank 6 and Pondexter scored on the break. Monk missed
a three with four seconds left but Ibaka tipped in the miss and prevented
another Lake K fast break chance. Lake K led 42-32 after the first quarter
with most of the starters resting half the quarter. Lake K out shot ANA
73% to 54% from the field. ANA was 0 for 5 from distance while Lake K was
0 for 3. You don't see many NBA quarters anymore where nether team makes a
three especially such a high scoring quarter. ANA only got 6 rebounds but
four of them were offensive. Gobert led the way with 15 points playing all
12 minutes. Every other Lake K player who played was out there for 6
minutes. Curry had 7 and Griffin 6. Ibaka scored 9 points in 8 minutes
while Jokic scored 8 in 4 minutes. Lake K led 4-2 in dazzlers.
In the second period, the high scoring continued with the first four
possessions being Griffin dazzler, Lowry dazzler, Griffin dazzler, and
Jokic hoop and some harm, though he did miss the FT. Griffin got another
dazzler and then scored inside on a D-6 for the biggest lead so far at
50-36. Lowry answered with a blank 3 three pointer. Harrell missed an
open inside shot but an off team reb allowed him a second chance and he
scored the second time. Harrell scored inside again but Lowry got a
dazzler. Harrell got fouled with Jokic guarding him but they gave Lowry
the foul instead. He made both FT's for a 56-41 lead. Griffin blocked
Ibaka on an X-7 inside and then scored inside on the other end. Jokic
scored against Harrell's 2-5,11 defense with an X-5. Harrell scored inside
again and Jokic made 1 of 2 FT's. Griffin got a hoop and some harm giving
ANA four team fouls with still seven minutes left in the half. Griffin
scored open inside and pushed the lead to over twenty for the first time at
65-44. Harrell got a hoop and some harm but again Jokic avoided his 3rd
foul. He missed the FT to keep it 67-44. Lowry and Ingles traded
dazzlers. Jokic missed his 7-20 dazzlers but Griffin got another dazzler
for 71-46 lead. Monk missed a three and Ibaka was called for a loose ball
foul giving Griffin FT's and he made both. Lowry got another blank 3 three
pointer. Ingles scored inside on a switch but Lowry got another dazzler.
Harrell scored first on a blank 11 and then after a steal on an X-3 against
Jokic's 2-4 defense. ANA was called for a realistic technical and Curry
made it 80-51 with 2:46 left. Gobert came back in and drew the third foul
on Jokic. He made both for a 31 point lead. Lowry hit a D-9 three and
Pondexter made 1 of 2 FT's for n 83-54 lead. Lowry was heating up even
with Thompson guarding him and hit another three on a blank 4. Dedmon
scored inside and Lowry hit another three on a blank 3. ANA ended the half
on an 8-0 run and cut it down to 83-62 getting the 31 point deficit down to
21 with an 11-1 run over the last 2:09 of the half. It's not often a team
shoots 57% from the field in a half and trails by over 20. But Lake K is
out of their mind shooting 76% from the field! Lake K is still 0 for 3
from downtown while ANA is 5 for 16, with Lowry 5 for 7. That means
everyone but Lowry is 0 for 12 from three among both teams. ANA was held
to 5 rebounds in the quarter and none were offensive. Even with some fast
breaking, Lake K kept their turnovers to just 3 while ANA has 7. Lake K
got 17 points from Griffin and Gobert while Curry and Harrell each added
16. ANA had three in double figures with Lowry's game high 19 points.
Jokic was at 13 in just 14 minutes and Ibaka scored 11 in 15 minutes. Lake
K scored over 40 points in both quarters so far. Lake K now leads 9-6 in
dazzlers.
In the third period, Ingles started things off with another dazzler.
Jordan made two FT's and Lowry hit another three on a D-9 to get the lead
back to the teens. Griffin got yet another dazzler for a 87-67 lead.
Griffin scored inside with Bradley playing safe with three fouls. Ibaka
got fouled on another off reb and made both FT;'s including one 12. Ibaka
got a rare miss inside on a blank 10 but Jordan got the rebound and led to
a Murray three on a blank 2 cutting it to 17 three minutes in. Curry made
two FT's on Lowry's 3rd foul but Lowry was literally in the zone with a D-4
three pointer. Griffin missed a three but an off team reb allowed Ingles
to get another dazzler. Griffin got another dazzler for a 95-75 lead and
Lowry finally missed a three on a D-7. Curry scored on a switch, and after
an Ingles steal, Ingles slowed it down and dished off another dazzler.
Lowry missed a three and missed his own off reb. Griffin scored inside for
a 10-0 run. After ANA cut it to 16, it is now back to 26 halfway through
the quarter. Lowry ended the run with a dazzler. Smart found his 1
turnover and Jokic got a dazzler. Lake K was called for charges on two
straight possessions but ANA turned it over both times including Jokic
missing his dazzlers. Harrell missed inside and Jokic the dazzler this
time. Smart scored on an unexpected off reb stopping six in a row for
ANA. Jokic missed on an off reb with an X-2 against Gobert's blank defense
but got another off reb and three point play the second time. He made the
FT to get it back in the teens at 103-84. Grant hit a three on a blank 2
to again get ANA within 16. Harrell answered inside on a blank 9.
Pondexter scored on the break after Murray missed on a drive. An Opp Def
22 was a steal for Mason but he missed the FB shot and Jokic got a dazzler
instead. With two seconds left, Harrell missed inside to prevent it from
being a 20 point game. With 12 minutes left in one team's season, Lake K
leads 107-89, but after what happened in Game 6, it doesn't feel
comfortable. Lake K now leads in FG shooting 70% to 52%. ANA is 9 for 23
from three while Lake K is 0 for 4. ANA had as many rebounds (11) in that
quarter as they had in the first half and more than doubled their off.
reb's from 4 to 9. Lake K has 8 steals and 8 turnovers while ANA is 5 and
11 in those cat's. Curry, Griffin, Ingles, and Jokic all have 8 assists
(and Curry is the only one among them with no dazzlers on his card).
Griffin and Ingles each have 6 dazzlers while Jokic and Lowry each have 5.
Lowry still has a game high 25 while Griffin is at 23 and Curry 22. Gobert
is now at 19 and Harrell 18. Jokic is at 16 and Ibaka 13 with Jokic
approaching a triple double with 8 rebounds.
In the fourth period, four of the five on the court for ANA have three
fouls including Jokic, Ibaka,and Lowry. Harrell is the only with 3 for
Lake K. Lowry and Ingles traded dazzlers on the first possession for each
team. Jokic got one next. Griffin missed a three and Ingles was called
for a loose ball foul. Then Jokic got another dazzler to make it a 14
point game, the closest ANA had been since early in the second quarter.
Harrell missed inside and Bradley scored on a drive to cut it to 12.
Griffin scored inside on a blank 8 with exactly 10 minutes left. Bradley
hit a jumper on a blank 6 and then finally Lake K made their first three of
the game when Ingles got a D-8. Jokic scored inside on a D-5 and Harrell
scored on an X-2 against Jokic's 2-4 defense. Jokic found his 1-6
turnovers and Thompson came out of nowhere with no points in 29 minutes to
drain a three on a blank 5. I almost didn't know he was playing. Lake K
leads 119-101 with 8:39 left. Ingles scored inside on a switch to restore
the twenty point lead at 121-101 on an 8-0 run. Jokic ended the run
scoring inside and ANA went to PRESS defense but it caused a 4th foul on
Jokic instead. Ingles turned it over on his 1-5 turnovers but Jokic missed
inside. Harrell scored inside to make it 123-103 with 6:38 to go. Another
turnover action card for ANA and Thompson hit another three on a switch.
Murry hit a three on a blank 11 and Jokic got another dazzler. Griffin
scored inside and Jokic got another dazzler. Ingles got another dazzler
but Murray hit another three. Ingles missed his dazzlers but Monk missed a
three on a blank 6. Griffin scored inside on D-5 for a 132-113 lead with
2:50 left. With two minutes left and a 19 point lead, Lake K cleared the
bench and Leuer immediately scored inside. Lake K goes on to win 136-115
and avoids the Game 6 collapse all over again. Lake K shot an amazing 71%
from the field for the game with the season on the line. Griffin went for
a game high 31 points with 9 rebounds and 8 assists with 6 dazzlers. Curry
added 24 points and 10 assists. Harrell chipped in 22 points and Ingles
had a game high 12 assists on 8 dazzlers. Lowry led ANA with 29 points but
missed his last three 3's. He also had 9 assists on 6 dazzlers. Jokic
just missed a triple double with 22 points, 9 rebounds and a game high 12
assists on 9 dazzlers. Ibaka came back down to earth with only 15 points
after being ungodly for four straight games. He still average 30.7 points
in the 7 game series.
