First of all – speaking of Lowry making 3’s – did y’all see the 3 he hit to tie 
the game last night v Boston.  All the momentum with Boston as they had come 
from 9 behind to take the lead.  Crowd roaring.  Contested 3 from a ways behind 
the arc.  And Lowry drained it.  Butler was phenomenal but that was the shot of 
the night.

Love the write-up.  Thanks.  I can envision you pulling out the flask to add a 
little flavor to the coffee when JaMychal kept taking – and making – shots.  
Definitely his best game of the season.  I varied my lineup to put together the 
small ineup with Clarkson at SF and Green at C while resting Randle and Siakam 
at the same time.  Looks like it worked this morning.  I don’t play Clarkson 
much in away games because the computer seems to have him jack up 3’s all the 
time and I cannot figure out how to control it so he either does not shoot so 
much or takes shots he has a better chance of making.  All the games have been 
tough battles so far.  SGA is tough to keep in check.

A cup of good strong coffee and a Strat playoff game - not a bad way to start a 
weekend!

Like game 3, GRG jumped out to an early 9-2 lead, which Wilmington erased with 
a 12-0 run. The Gold's "small-ball" lineup responded with an 8-0 run of their 
own, featuring threes by JaMychal Green and Jordan Clarkson, to regain the lead 
at 23-22, but Wilmington countered with a 9-0 run - seven by Damontis Sabonis - 
to go ahead 31-23. Following a putback by Green, Wilmington went to Cody Zeller 
with :06 to go. I turned down the Hold option and Zeller missed. GRG boarded 
and Kyle Lowry hit a desperation three to end the quarter, 31-28 Wilmington. 
Randle and Siakam both went oh-fer from the floor, but the Gold compensated 
with five offensive boards to keep it close. Sabonis led the Sharks' early 
offense with four dazzlers.

The second quarter was miserable for Wilmington. The Sharks shot 9/21, and 1/7 
from deep, and constant Wilmington fouling led to a parade of GRG free throws - 
16/18 for the quarter, compared to 1/2 for WIL. It didn't bode well when Siakam 
and Randle combined for only eight points but the Gold still led by seven, 
58-51. Green led the way with 14 and Lowry added 13. Both Hayward and 
Gilgeous-Alexander were ineffective, combining for 14 points, with the only 
source of production for Wilmington being seven dazzers by Sabonis. I need more 
coffee.

And I thought the second quarter was bad.......Grand Rapids put on a third 
quarter clinic, shooting 16/24, including 6/9 beyond the arc, with Lowry 
hitting all four of his deep shots. On those rare occasions when it appeared 
Wilmington had a stop, the Gold grabbed another offensive board - four more for 
the quarter. The Gold are now 22/24 from the stripe. The only area Wilmington 
had a statistical advantage was assists, as the Sharks had 27 helpers on 29 
hoops, mostly due to 11 Sabonis dazzlers. Trailing 100-81, we can hear the fat 
lady warming up - is it too early for something stronger than coffee?

Fourth quarter - it quickly became clear that this was not to be for 
Wilmington. An early Jordan Clarkson offensive board.....four Sharks fouls in 
the first 3:30....Wilmington tried pressing with some success, and knocked down 
a few shots, but the hole was too deep as GRG earned a 132-119 victory to take 
a commanding 3-1 series lead. Lowry was Star of the Game with an efficient 27 
points, 8 boards and 7 dimes, and six other Gold players scored in double 
digits. Wilmington finished with good shooting percentages, thanks to 39 
assists. Sabonis went 15/8/15.
