GAGGERS,
Here I lie all broken-hearted; tried to golf and only putted. Update:
Sarah's surgery went well last week, and mine seems to have gone well
yesterday. Sarah will be in a cast on her right arm for about six weeks from
now. I should be able to pick up a club in about a month, and with some luck
will be able to take a full swing about Las Vegas time. So, we will fit in
exceptionally well with the rest of you non-good golfers. We will, however,
expect a temporary break on our indexes. I'm sure all of you will concur that a
stroke-a-hole would be equitable with "the Rules of Golf" (see below).
By the way, I've negotiated a special deal for lodging--Sarah has agreed to
share our part of the two-bedroom suite with me. We flip for who gets the couch
(or the big tub might do the trick.). Anyway, just wanted to pass this option
along as you may not have thought of it for those who might yet join us.
Section 8
Handicap Adjustment for Injury or Disability
Q. Can the Handicap Committee adjust a Handicap Index® for player injury or
disability?
A. Yes. Under Section 8-4c(iii) of the USGA Handicap System manual, a Handicap
Committee can grant an increase in handicap for temporary and permanent
disabilities (as determined by the Handicap Committee). The modified Handicap
Index must be identified by the letter "M" to indicate it has been modified by
the club's Handicap Committee.
For example, a player having recent wrist surgery may be given a modified
Handicap Index while recovering. Whether it is a temporary or permanent
adjustment, and the amount of adjustment, is to be determined at the club level
by the player’s Handicap Committee.
Please visit Section 8-4c and Decisions 8-4c/1 and 8-4c/2 of the USGA Handicap
System manual for further reference.

Hi All,
Thanks to Rico for his SOGAGG distro efforts...
I'm hoping some of the non-Vegas Gagger's will change their mind once they
see the PLAN.
Here is a rough draft of our upcoming golf outing to Vegas in beginning 23rd
April. This year I'm proposing that we reach deeper in our pockets to play
some nicer and of coarse more costly links than in our past visits.
Generally the range will be somewhere between $75 and $125 pp. Since we have
another outstanding week at the Grandview for only $175 pp for the week, I
think we can splurge on our golf choices. I have not made any effort yet to
secure tee times but I plan to work that in early March where the except
reservations that far in advance. We may be able to get better deals if I
make our tee times closer to our arrival date.
I've included a list of the courses we played in '14 and 15' at the bottom of
the rough draft FYI.
So I welcome everyones comments and suggestions. Looking forward to hearing
that Trek, Skully, Divot and OB are joining in the fray!
Cheers

List
Excellent effort to date on the SOGAGG Distro list. Just herding a few
remaining cats.
Old Slice, Docente, Trek, Divot,
When able please do the following:
1) Go to https://www.freelists.org/list/sogagg
2) Enter your email address, ensure that the dropbox box is set to Subscribe
and press Go
3) Confirm the confirmation email
4) Miller Time :-)
I will let the group know when everyone is in and we can simply just put
sogagg@xxxxxxxxxxxxx as the only addressee for email.
FWIW, persons can have multiple email addresses (ie work and home email
accounts). Just repeat the above process for each email one wants on the
distro list. Lots of Miller Time for those with multiple email addresses :-)
Makes me think of Rocky's Burgers and Brews!
Ciao,
Rico aka OB
