Ace, aka Mature One-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You are older, wiser, and way cooler, not to mention one step
closer to being able to shoot your age.
Thanks for being such a great role model for us youngsters.
Have a great day.
Very respectfully-
Axe

I was going to say something witty but there are two problems with that:
1. I’m not very witty, even when I think I am, and
2. KD already used all the good ones <wlEmoticon-sadsmile[1].png>.
So, I will settle for a very heartfelt “Happy Birthday!” You are one of the
most genuine and generous people I know and it is a privilege to call you
friend.
Now, to the subject of curling. While I appreciate KD’s detailed discussion
of the exact nature of the afore-mentioned “sport”, I would like to assure
you that it never occurred to any of us that curling would have anything to
do with styling your “hair”.
Enjoy the day, sir, and have a hearty celebration with your family.

“Ace”,
For whatever reason, a number of SOGAGGers approached me to provide an
official birthday greeting to you. So let me begin by saying, all of SOGAGG
(local, international, intergalactic, subterranean, deep-ocean, and
imaginary chapters) send their greetings and best wishes to you for the
happiest of Birthdays.
As the founder of SOGAGG, you define our past and our future. And as far as
the present goes – we didn’t get you anything. [Nothing new here…. But in
lieu of that, each of us is going to buy something nice for ourselves. And
I know that you wouldn’t want it any other way…..].
Several SOGAGGers wanted to send you a personal message. Some actually
attached their names to these messages. Others wished to remain anonymous.
Since I forgot who was who, I am listing all of these messages (in the order
in which they were received) as anonymous. (BTW, this is how I sign my
checks to the various charities being claimed on tax returns to the IRS. Am
also claiming golf expenses under “mental health medical expenses”. It has
occurred to me that these decisions may have something to do with the need
to keep changing tax accountants. But I digress….).
Here’s what I have received from the various SOGAGG chapters, thus far….
· Once in many years, people with great passion and brilliance are
born into this world. They are people who aim at greater things in life.
And today, one of them would like to wish you a very Happy Birthday.
· My advice would be that you grab two pieces of birthday cake – one
in each hand (for a balanced diet). Have a great day!!
· Happy Birthday Ace!! Enjoy another 364 days of an all-expense
paid trip around the sun.
· Ace: Thanks for always being older than me. Happy Birthday!!
· You keep getting younger – only in reverse. J
· Happy Birthday to an 18 year old, with XX years of “working
experience”…..
· Ace, I wanted to post the fanciest birthday message ever on
facebook for you today – but I had ‘typer’s block’, so Happy Birthday
· Getting older happens.., getting up is a choice. Think about that
on your birthday, and every day after that…... J
· Happy Birthday! And remember this – If you lick all the frosting
off a cupcake, it becomes a muffin. And muffins are good for you. Happy
Birthday.
· To someone (like me) who is old enough to have a Blockbuster card.
Happy Birthday. [Will there be cake???]
· Ace, I was going to mail you a birthday card, but my internet
connection came back just in time to send KD this message. So Happy
Birthday!!
· Remember, no matter what birthday it is, you’re never too old to
be a professional curler.
And finally…,
· Ace, I was going to make you a delicious rum cake – but I decided
to go with a regular cake. And now I’m too drunk to bake.
So there you have it. An entire compendium of Birthday Wishes, from these,
your friends. (Try not to be too depressed about your choice of friends --
just feel the love…..) J
Hope that you have a wonderful birthday.
KD
