Boomer,
You wish is true. Open Season. For each event, there are spots for
remembrances, evidence, pix, dead bodies, skeletons in closets, etc. 🙂

Uh oh…..this could get interesting! I do agree that there should be a place
for “rememberances” ….places for “evidence”…possibly for each event….or just a
photo album. I would say keep it classy…..but I know this crowd.
Cheers

“Swamp” (aka “Rico”),
You have done an AMAZING job with the SOGAGG website. It is truly FANTASTIC.
A couple of troubling issues however that I’d like to bring to your attention….
1. “NOTE-One can only update their own profile.” This is an unfortunate
constraint – no doubt required based upon your very accurate assessment
regarding what OTHERS would do with the unrestricted power associated with
having the authority to update OTHER MEMBERS profiles. Yet I still have LOTS
and LOTS of great ideas regarding profile additions/revisions for various
members (not to be unveiled here…..). And each and every update, I can assure
you, would be done with respectfully good taste and reverence….. Perhaps (for
a reasonable “donation”) you might temporarily provide yours truly with
permission to do an occasional “update” of an individual’s profile. (Note:
Did I mention that this would be done with “respectfully good taste and
reverence”?? -- trust me….)
2. Please let me know if there are other fields that we need. Mary and I
have approximately 6.5 acres of fields included in our North Carolina property.
So we’re good there….. Ohhh., maybe you were talking about the website!!!
Perhaps in each “Event Summary” we could list the shirt/hat requirement. That
way we could ensure that everyone was in the “proper uniform”. But wait…, that
might mean that there would be no fines!!! NEVER MIND!!!
3. My hope is that we can use the site as a running journal for all of our
fun and frivolity while fresh in our brains… When I signed up for this
outfit, no one EVER mentioned that a “fresh brain” was a requirement. Maybe
this is a good idea for new recruits, but shouldn’t there be some sort of
“grandfather clause” for those of us who have been Society members for more
than a year or two? (Like to get a ruling from the Membership Committee on
this….).
Just my two cents. Love your initiative, drive, and dedication in getting this
website going. It is a truly wonderful product.
All the best wishes,
KD

Subject: [sogagg] SOGAGG Website
Dear SOGAGG Familia,
Everyone's assistance with getting accounts made were greatly appreciated for
the new SOGAGG website. I was able to fill in some info for the original
accounts, but would be great for members to update their profile with a pix and
other info. One can get to their profile by logging in and then going to
Members>View Profile. NOTE-One can only update their own profile. Please let
me know if I can assist. Also, even if a person gets mail from the SOGAGG
distro list at multiple accounts, it is only necessary (and preferred) to
create one account on the website. Both systems are separate and currently do
not talk to each other.
Congrats to KD for creating the May event. To create an event, one just has to
go to the Events page and select the top button. The event is then keyed to
the organizer which is why I cannot create accounts on behalf of others without
having to go in and hack the backend database. These are mostly for golf
events, but I think that we can use for other events as well such as the
60-60-60 soiree. I love the pix that Ace floated today. Once the event is
created including shirt and hat color, if applicable, one can sign up for an
event from that Events Details page. To sign up, one selects the sign up and
to unsign up one can select the red X. Note - A member can only sign/de-sign
themself only. Once on the events page, members can also add pix and high(low)
lights as well. NOTE2- I am trying to figure out how to include guests, maybe
a text field? Open to ideas.
sHank,
Perhaps you can create an event for the 60-60-60 event since you organized.
Once the event is created, we can add the great pix that Ace shared today.
Chi Chi,
Perhaps you can create events for each day of SOGAGG Ventura and maybe even
Friday night at Casa Choquette and Saturday at Ojai for dinner?
Familia,
Please let me know if can assist with setting up any events. Please let me
know if there are other fields that we need. Perhaps low net so we know who
should be setting up the future event?? Let me know. My hope is that we can
use the site as a running journal for all of our fun and frivolity while fresh
in our brains and have proof with photos 🙂
KD mentioned a Mission Statement at last week's outing. I love the thought of
a mission statement. Maybe for the home (splash) public page?
