Helna,
I’ve done a more thorough check this AM including inadvertently checking the
“forgot password” function. Even though I did not intend to test it, I’m happy
to report it work as advertised. I’m not happy to report that I can forget my
easy password in less than an hour.
Regarding potential changes: (I have but one and it is a nit):
When I purchased the on course contest for four, I had to re-enter all of the
players names. It would be simpler for the user if the names from the
foursome previously entered auto-filled in the boxes.
Regarding the tests I accomplished:
password reset - passed
modifying profile after original save - passed
payment with credit card - passed (or at least I have not been billed yet)
I also checked various links to make sure they worked
Great Job!!! Call if you have questions.
Charlie,
I apologize in advance. I was intending to attach my comments to yours as I
noticed you did not cc: Helna. In my attempt to do so, I tried to delete all
of the non-relevant email strings. I somehow fat-fingered the process and lost
your entire email. Please resent do Helna if you did not forward them to her
be separate email as I no longer have them.
Thanks,
DT

Thanks Helna. I’ll do a thorough check tomorrow morning. I did a quick check
of the sponsorship registration for the breakfast it worked as advertised for
payment with check. Tomorrow’s test will include the player registration.
I’ll try a credit card for it.
Thanks for the explanation regarding inability to remove credit card payment
option for sponsorship. I agree we do not want to do so if it also has to
apply to players. That would be way too hard to manage.
More tomorrow morning.

Helna, OB, Knockdown, (I am copying all just to make sure we all have common
data and expectations.)
First. Great work. We’re on the right track. Here are my comments:
Let’s deal with sponsorship first. You have more than we need. The
detailed sponsorship info is not necessary, so you can cut out that part.
For the registration site, we just need a place for potential sponsors to
register their contact data and select a sponsorship for one or more of the
following sponsorships (your pull down menus for Bronze and Supporting are
ok, but it would be better to show all of the bronze and supporting
sponsorship options without a pull down). You then send the sponsor contact
information and the name of the sponsorship selected to the sponsorship
team:--Made changes as recommended. I’ll create a registration report link
for the committee to access in real-time.--Helna
TITLE SPONSOR $10,000
HONOR (Awards Luncheon) SPONSOR $5,500
MERIT (Breakfast) SPONSOR $3,500
SILVER (Beverage and Snack Cart) SPONSOR (two available) $2,500
BRONZE SPONSORSHIPS (no foursome)
• 1st Place Prize Sponsorship $1,000
• 2nd Place Prize Sponsorship $ 600
• 3rd Place Prize Sponsorship $ 400
• Putting Contest Sponsor $ 350
SUPPORTING SPONSORSHIPS (no foursome)
• Hole / On-course Contest Sponsor (18 available) $ 350
• Straightest Drive Sponsor (2 available) $ 350
• Closest-to-the-Pin Sponsor (4 available) $ 350
• Longest Drive Sponsor (2 available) $ 350
For each of the above, leave just the box to check. Delete all of the
info that you now show below that line. This should just record the contact
data and put up a message similar to:
“Thank you for your “title” [for example, “BRONZE 1st Place
Prize” or “TITLE” or “Supporting Closest-to-the-Pin”) sponsorship. Our
sponsorship team will contact you to complete the sponsorship process.”—When
online registration is completed, a confirmation page will be shown on the
webpage and email will be sent to the registrant few seconds later.--Helna
The contact data for this sponsorship would then be sent to the
sponsorship team (Gar Wright, Sarah Lamade, Mike Lindsey, Jack Sears). They
would make contact; collect funds, logo, & motto; and make other
arrangements as needed with the sponsor.—Please check email verbiage in the
registration confirmation email and feel free to edit as you see fit.--Helna
The golf web site will have a list of sponsorship opportunities similar to
the below. Ideally the “benefits” would dynamically hide text with a show
more button to see the benefits. Clicking on “Show More” would reveal the
sponsor benefits and a button for “Become the Navy Gold Coast 2018 and NDIA
San Diego Patriot Golf Day Title Sponsor”, for example. Clicking on this
would go to the Regonline sponsor registration. This would be the place for
them to enter their contact data and receive a note that they will be
contacted by the Sponsorship Team. The contact data would be provided to Gar
et al who would make contact, close the deal, and work with the sponsor
directly. We expect this on-line process to happen infrequently. The normal
sponsorship process would be off line. –Sound good.--Helna

Now let’s deal with player registration. The golf web site will have a list
of player registration options something like below (could also have the
“show more” function for benefits) with link to regonline.— Perfect! As
soon as registration page is approved, I’ll send the final golf registration
link to Greg.--Helna
ENTRY INFORMATION
Register as an individual or as a foursome.
Burrito Breakfast and Awards Luncheon
Format: Four-person scramble.
On-course fun and challenges on each hole.
Course: Rancho Bernardo Inn Golf Course.
Randy Jones Invitational Qualifier
Payment required to register.
Player Registration Single Price: $130.00
Player Registration Foursome Price: $460.00
All-in-one On-Course Contest Package
A “game” on every hole.
Mulligans and “String”
Putting Contest / Long Drives / Straight Drives
Closest-to-the-pin on all par 3s.
Other on-course fun and challenges.
No vendors soliciting money for games.
Player On-course Contest Package Single Price: $45.00 ($60 day of event)
Player On-course Contest Package Foursome Price: $160.00 ($200 day of event)
Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place foursomes.
So, the regonline player registration is very close. Here are some
specific comments on the Regonline functions:
For the “View Details” button, “Rancho Bernardo Inn San Diego - A Golf and
Spa Res” should end in “Resort” vice “Res”.
The single player registration needs a comments field so people can say
things like “I am part of the General Dynamics foursome” or “Please pair me
with Steve Jackson.” Or, you can just point them to the “email us” function
at the top of the registration.
“Company/Organization” should not be a mandatory field.
Country defaults to “United States” on the Brave browser and the Chrome
browser, but came up blank on the Safari Browser and the Edge Browser.
I’m not sure we need two mandatory phone fields.
Delete: “Four Mulligans - $20 (Limit 1 per player)”
The pledge function:
Let’s change “I would like to be contacted for additional PLEDGE. Please
have someone contact me by phone or email” to this:
I PLEDGE an additional donation. Please contact me via email or phone.
Amount __________. (Amount should be variable. Send the contact and amount
of pledge data to Gar et al.) - -- Updated this section and also added a
statement for the PLEDGE in the confirmation email.--Helna

Helna,
I've gone through all pages of the registration and offer the following
comments:
First of all, very well done. –Thank you! --Helna
I’ve read Charlie's comments and agree with his concept to remove the option
to either pay on-line or pledge. We have settled on pledge only. Sorry
about the change in direction. - - -Payment option between sponsors and golf
players cannot be one or the other for this event. You cannot set-up “PAY
BY CREDIT CARD” for players and “PAY BY CHECK” for sponsors or PLEDGE.
These two payment option can stay in the check-out page, so it will allow
registrants to select their method of payment. If we remove the credit card
as a payment option for the sponsors, then the only payment option for golf
players will be “PAY BY CHECK.” I don’t recommend in removing the credit
card payment option for this event as this will require the committee to
follow-up payments from players. I think everyone agrees that you would
rather have the player registration funds now than later. And besides, if
there’s no payment commitment, there’s likely a chance for players not to
show up.--Helna
On the opening page, the link for "Event Details” goes to last years golf
event. I believe in a few days, Greg will have the 2018 event golf page
complete. So the current link will have to be fixed.—This is temporary. As
soon as Greg will make changes in the Golf Page, it will show the updated
webpage.--Helna
Under “Start Registration”, you have a drop down box to select either
“industry” of “government”. I’m not sure why. Consider deleting it if NDIA
or Gold Coast folks do not need the data.—If nobody cares about how many
players from the government or industry side, then I can remove this option.
Please note that once this is removed, we will not be able to generate this
data in the golf registration report.--Helna
On the Profile page: The Country of Origin is alphabetical so it lists the
United States way down the list. Is it possible to list the US first, and
then all other countries?—Done---Helna
On the Profile page: Address Line 2 has an asterisk. It will not let you
proceed unless you fill it in. I filled it in with a bogus word. I suggest
you make the field optional. - - Fixed.--Helna
On the Golf Player Registration page: The pricing for the foursome on course
contest package should be $180 (4x$45).
On the Sponsorship page: Move the mulligan package to the Golf Player
Registration page.
At Checkout/Details: I opted to pay with a check. The system did indeed
send me an appropriate email. No change necessary, I’m merely reported the
system passed the test.
Let me know when you have all comments incorporated. I’d like to “test” it
again. This time I’ll pay with a credit card vice check to make sure it
works properly.

I don’t agree with these two:
On the Golf Player Registration page: The pricing for the foursome on course
contest package should be $180 (4x$45).
On the Sponsorship page: Move the mulligan package to the Golf Player
Registration page.
The price for an on-course contest package, individual, is $45. The price
for an on-course contest package, foursome, is $160. We give a discount for
registering a foursome.
The price for a green fee, individual, is $130. The price for a green fee,
foursome, is $460. We give a discount for registering a foursome.
Just for consistency, when referring to the fee paid to use the golf course,
green is singular; we do not use the plural. Also, on course is hyphenated
when used this way, “What is the price for an on-course contest package?”
There is no separate Mulligan package. There is only the on-course contest
package, which, incidentally, will include Mulligans and “String.”
