Docho/Appreciate the thought – thanks. As you probably have seen from Rules’
recent email indicating the possibility of a wait-list and my reply stating we
out to clear out the SOGAGGers currently registered to play for space that the
community could take, we’ll have to flesh all this out to see where it goes.
The good news here is we have time to do so.
More to follow,

Ace,
Please consider Mike T as a buffer that can show if need be. Or alternatively,
can be dropped from a TBD slot if we need to pair down to 144. I see Helna
recently claimed 147.

SOGAGGers,
During our 19th hole post-outing beer and sandwich bash (and just before we
were thrown out for locking the chef in the head and taking over the grill),
the subject of the PGD surfaced and one element of that discussion was the fact
that we were very close to the full-up 144 attendee number. Earlier that
morning, I had registered four foursomes. Please note that the registrations
related to SOGAGGers do not dictate who is playing in what foursome. I just
went down the list of those who are playing and registered them:
1. OB – Docente Ocho – Birdie – Woods
2. Divot – Bagger – WOXOF – Ace
3. Axe – Rules – TBD - TBD
4. Supervisor Ron Roberts – TBD – TBD – TBD
Foursome No. 3:
* You’ll notice there are two TBD’s. However, Chi Chi had long since
registered to play and so he will of course play as one of those TBD’s but I
didn’t want to confuse the registration process by putting in his name and
having it shown as a duplication. That being said, I paid for a foursome so
there really are two slots open: One for SOGAGG and one for wherever we put
her or him. A little confusing but I hope I made that a tad clearer than mud.
Bottom line, we have to find two folks. One to fill out foursome No. 3 and one
for whom I paid for because I bought two TBD’s there…
* We asked Matt (addressed on this email) if he would be interested in
filling one TBD slot. He very much was but then trumped us (no pun intended)
by volunteering to make up a foursome of his own in order to ensure we hit our
attendee limit. Matt, we appreciate that a bunch and the thought here might be
to pop your registration in ASAP with you and three TBD’s to ensure you get a
four-spot. Thanks again for your generosity.
* Chi Chi, who is always there in support, indicated he would check
with his friend “Fast Eddie” Neuwirth for the SOGAGG TBD who many of us know
from Fast Eddie having joined us via past SOGAGG Las Vegas excursions. If he
can’t go, we continue the search.
Foursome No. 4:
* Woods, is it fair to assume Ron Roberts will be advising you of his
players? If/when he does, please pass them on to me and I will update that
particular registration online.
All Foursomes:
* I registered all 16 players above and the additional four of Ken
Slaght and his foursome (for a total of 20) with the a on-course package. The
Ron Roberts and Ken Slaght foursomes are sponsored, however for SOGAGG, that
comes to $115 (vice $130 singularly) to play and $40 (vice $45 singularly) to
participate in the on-course festivities for a total of $155.
* Note: There was discussion amongst the group about whether SOGAGG
members should give up their playing slots to non-SOGAGG registrants who wish
to play but cannot due to the 144 ceiling having been reached. The underlying
thought here was the importance of having as many military, government and
industry personnel get the chance to do so and thus swell the ranks of those
who would wish to come back again in 2019. Axe and Rules, given that you had
early afternoon commitments and could not attend the 19th hole and these
discussions, please give us your thoughts.
Forgive the long email but thought some registration perspective on these
subjects might be useful at this point.
Best to all,
/Ace
