I use lots of citrus peel Pauline..  once I've dried it, I use the blender
to munch it all up.... most of the peel goes to a fine grind (almost like
flour)... but there's always a residue of larger pieces... I use these to
sprinkle over the top of soap.

BTW the best "drier" I've come across is the metal plate on our logburner
(the plate that protects the mantelpiece).  I pop the peel on that and its
usually bone dry within 48 hours.  I turn the peel a few times during the
day.  Also gives a nice perfume to the room whilst drying :-)

I have sliced off and dried some orange peel to put in soap but it has gone
quite hard and sharp so would it be best to grind it to almost a powder.
