Pauline,
I think your measuring is to blame for your sticky soap.
First you must always use the same weight measure for everything ie: grams
or ounces, never mix them! And using a cup to measure caustic soda is a no
no?..everything must be accurately measured.
When I put your recipe through the Lott calc, the Lye worked out to be
152.14grams and the water is 360.80grams, I think herein lies your mistake!
I have no idea how many grams would have been in your ¾ cup measure !!! and
400mls water ? well usually mills and grams are the same even so you were
out approx. 30grams that is if it was accurately ?measured? as 400mls.
To rebatch you would have to work out the amount of grams you had in ¾ of a
cup of lye, and try to adjust it when you rebatch ! I think at this stage
of your soap making it would be best if you use it in the washing machine.
It could be salvaged but would require a lot of ?maths? and a prayer lol.
But don?t let that deter you from making soap, we all learn from our
mistakes, as I see it your problem is you need a very accurate scale, and
remember everything is measured in either grams or ounces, and put through a
lye calculator, from there everything is a ?breeze?.

We need to know what sort of veg oil and exactly how much lye in grams then
I can run it through a calculator.
Pauline you really need to master a calculator as different oils require
different amounts of lye. You will run into trouble if you just use that
recipe and chop and change your oils around.
What we do is a form of science.
Do you know where this recipe came from out of interest?

Did you mix the oil with the lyes or the lye to the oil?
Need to know more. What oils and what amounts were used please.
And rebatched soap is snotty.
