In order to surpass current attendance turn out, we are conducting a
preliminary survey.

Any and all participation, feedback, information, suggestions, ideas,
input, and/or opinions are strongly encouraged, welcomed and GREATLY
appreciated.

We would also like to take a moment and clarify a key, and fundamental policy.

This is our ?Open Door? policy.

This is classified as a ?Linux Users Group? and we deal with different flavors
and variations of the emerging FREE OS.

However, EVERY single person, REGARDLESS of technical background and/or
experience, is warmly welcomed and cordially invited.

Whether you?re a Unix freak, Linux god, Networking guru, Novell Expert,
Microsoft Specialist, AS/400 or other Mainframe Engineer, or just a newbie.

It quite simply DOES NOT MATTER!

The door is open to EVERYONE!!

The best part is, ?IT?S FREE?!

To spread the message and spirit of the ?FREE FOR ALL? thought process, at this
time, there is no charge to you.

Having said all that let the troubleshooting process begin!

The first piece of the puzzle is to orientate meetings, at a time that most of
the members, if not all, will be able to participate, so not a SINGLE member
misses out.

Time is something we do not have enough of.

Especially for those of us in the technical world.

Whether it be time spent at work, out with our families, maybe even, God
forbid, RESTING; the point is, we all need more time.

Unfortunately, our schedules and life are not always so accommodating.

The second piece is content.

The third and by far the most important piece is YOU, THE MEMBER!

So, lets get down to business.

The following questionnaire is broken into 3 parts.

The 1st deals with physical location and surrounding characteristics.

The 2nd targets session content, your interests, and activities.

The 3rd is for your personal feedback.

Segment 1:

1. Given your ?typical? week, and/or weekly schedule, when is the best time,
and/or most desired/ideal time for you, to attend the gatherings?

2. Your schedule pending, how many meetings would you attend a month?

For instance, one meeting at the beginning of the month, and one mid-monthly.

3. What would your desired location/environment/atmospheric setting be?

This aspect is crucial because we want every member to be able to get the very
most out of our sessions.

Segment 2:

1. What would you like to personally achieve out of our meetings?

What are your goals?

What do you want and expect to get out of this?

2. What type of activities is appealing to you and would further entice your
attendance?

3. Rate the following activities that would influence your attendance:

 0 = Physically nauseous/ ?Not for me?
 10 = Totally ecstatic/ ?I?M THERE BAYBBEEEEEE!!?

 1. An Install-fest and various contests

 2. Network shop (with variations of the Linux OS, as well as the
integration and interoperability of other desktop OSs (MAC,Win9x/ME) and NOSs
such as Netware, NT and Win2k, even an AS/400 if anyone has one handy)

 * Greater details can and will be provided about this upon request.

3. Analysis of Bandwidth utilization and System Resource Load of Quake, Doom,
Streaming media and various other applications and services

4. Security Discussions and Member machine Security audits

5. FREE FOOD & DRINKS

6. FREE T-SHIRTS & BUMPER STICKERS

Segment 3:

This is section is dedicated to you, the member.

As previously mentioned, this is the HEART of the Group.

As a member, your participation has a direct impact on the direction the Group
goes.

Use this for your feelings, thoughts, ideas, desires, vision of what you want
this Group to become, any and all input.

In closing:

We can make this be, whatever we want it to be.

This is a Group, a Team; we are all in this together.

You have the power, a voice to decide the Group?s fate.

The success and future of SNAFUU is up to each and every single one of us.

Together we will strive to make this a World-Class Users Group!!

Thank You for your time and participation.

We are very grateful!!
