George:
The problem is the country will be lagging in states controlled by Liberal
Democrats which just also happens to be the ones hit the hardest of which we
are one. Do not expect PA to be one that is opened soon.
Every day we do not sell raffle tickets is less days we have to do so and also
less venues ( or no venues) to sell them at. If we can't leave the house we
can't sell tickets. I had a National Car show cancelled yesterday that is July
15 because they can't get things accomplished before then even if thee is
everything open then and do not want to incur huge losses..
If we do not cancel now, I fear it will be a further drain on our Treasury with
the losses we have on the raffle and the picnic . Also folks like me who have
medical issues will not be venturing to a picnic and taking a chance on our
compromised immunity allowing for covid-19 to attack. Most of us have problems
of some kind and open or not it will still be around by then in one form or
another. Waiting til May 1 won't change anything except Jean may have more
picnic check refunds to send back.

Ursula Shaffer and SMBA Board members,
Attached is a letter that I drafted that officially cancels our Picnic and
Raffle. We do not need to make a decision on canceling the until May 1st.
However, after seeing the President's plan the get the country open again I
feel we may be canceling prematurely.
We don't need to act on this until May 1st. Please take a look at the
letter and the situation in our country. It is not my decision to make. let me
know your decision by May 1st!
Best regards Geo
