After the phone has started up!
Press the Phone button.
Now Press Hash 111 Hash. That is press the lower Right hand button below the
number 9, then press the 1 three times and then press the lower right hand
button again. This will reset the screen reader back to its defaults.

Hi Sam/list,
I've already tried this process twice - removing the battery, putting it back
in and leaving the phone to charge. Even when I turn it on and the musical
sound comes on, I only get the vibration indicating it has booted up, and no
speech either when I try arrowing, bringing up the main menu etc. Sam, I've
also tried ringing you earlier using my landline phone, but after several
rings, I concluded posting here would be quicker.
