Hello Sharon,
You describe exactly what happened to me when I played with the settings on my
SmartVision 2 Premium phone last year soon after I bought it. You have turned
off autoscrolling, which is in the display settings. You will need to turn on
the touchscreen to turn this on. You will need to disable TalkBack and have
sighted help to tick the setting, then enable TalkBack. You will then have
full access to your phone again. Just remember not to turn this setting off
again, smile!
Hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Clive Pallett

Subject: [smartvisionau] FW: Resetting talkback settings
Hi all, I am using a Smartvision 2 phone. I was going through the talkback
settings today and ticked a box about lists, sorry can’t remember the exact
wording. Now I am limited on how far down a list I can go. For example in my
email program I can only see five messages and when I arrow down from the fifth
message it goes to the bottom button which is compose and then it goes back to
the top of the window again. If I delete a message then I can see the next
message but at times I don’t want to delete any messages or all the messages on
the screen are replies to other messages that I haven’t read yet. I have gone
back into the talkback settings but it won’t allow me to go down the list as
far as the option I think I need to change. I am wondering if there is a way to
reset talkback settings to default so I can get my phone running probably
again? It doesn’t matter where the list is on the phone it is even happening
with the apps on my home screen, it will go so far but no more.
I have turned off my phone and turned it back on with no difference. I have
also removed the battery to see if that could fix it but no luck.
At the same time as I did this option I also turned off my touch screen so I
can’t use any gestures to move around. I asked this question on the accessible
android list but the only suggestion I received required using the touch screen.
This is really driving me mad so I am hoping someone can help.
Thanks.
From Shaz.
