Hi Rhonda, and thanks for replying. Yes, I have the code correct. I found the option for resetting the phone within Backup and restore, but now I'm wondering how I can check whether my contacts are stored on the phone itself or on the SIM card, as I can't remember which one I used for storing them in the first place and I'm guessing this reset will erase that data too. (The warning does mention such data as account info, music, photos etc.)

Regards
Vivien

Hi again
Not sure but just want to check that the reset number is star hash 333 hash.
Just double checking in case you have punctuation turned off on your text
option.
The other way to reset apparently is to go into your applications, select
settings select backup and reset and  there is a factory reset there.
I have never had to do this so can't guarantee it will do the job but worth
a look.

Hi Rhonda, and thanks for re-sending that. But am I meant to wait til
the phone comes up talking before dialing, or just after it vibrates to
power on etc? I dialed the code for the factory reset after it was
talking, only to get a local context menu. I tried it straight after the
vibration which indicates the phone is powering on, but nothing happens
other than the normal prompts when it comes on.

HI Rhonda and all,

With the sim card in and the latest firmware version, you are able to
dial *#111# to reset the blindness configuration, or *#333# to
completely reset the phone to factory settings.
