Hello,

as I do not have Windows to experiment (and never used VMWare 17) I  can only
suggest that you provide information to investigate this issue.

If possible please type:
alsa-info.sh no-upload --output pawel.txt
and send the file pawel.txt

Aletrnatively you could the --upload and  --pastebin options (will use
https://pastebin.ca as remote sever) and give the link to the pastebin.

Or, proceed to installation and from the installed system send the file
/var/log/INSTALLER.gz.

Just to let you know, there is no speech while attempting Slint 15.4
installation in VMWare 17 running on Windows 10.
There have been already several distribution such as Debian 11, Devuan
4.0, Accessible Coconut and ArchLinux installed and run in this
environment with no difficulties.
I managed through the initials steps of installation because of my
Braille display.
I made sure that alsa is running and not muted. I executed
/etc/rc.d/rc.espeakup restart with no success.
I am hanging in the installation root prompt in case Didier wants me
to try anything to make it talk.
