Hi, > Is this the reason why the glibc for ppc32 doesn't use NPTL? We had some strange 'random' crashes with NPTL (ld related?): Removing some packages (-> libs) and running ldconfig sometimes caused some very funny errors like: #1: System works with NPTL #2: Removepkg kde-* #3: run 'ldconfig' -> mv / strace / ld are segfaulting -> perl -e 'rename /lib/tls /lib/tls_' #4: installpkg kde-* #5: mv /lib/tls /lib/tls_ #6: ldconfig -> system works again with NPTL (I still think it's funny that something 'big' like perl would still work while 'mv' crashed!) powerpc64 NPTL seems to work just fine so far.. somewhere i've read that ppc32 NPTL is officially *broken* since .. years .. (Well: Does any ppc-distribution use NPTL ?!) -- A. Top posters Q. What's the most annoying thing on Usenet?
