You are saying that, because of > the "evil" java, we can't offer no more OOo in the official cd/dvd? Yes. We're not allowed to repackage or even redistribute IBM java packages as their policy is much stricter than SUN's one. Strictly speaking, we've no problem in building the whole distribution, freezing development, manually installing java and then building OOo, but this way will offer a logically incoherent product as some of our sources (OOo) cannot be built unless you do some more manual extra steps. Not to mention that this will delay further our sloppy "catch up with Patrick" schedule. So, unless RH folks will finish build a powerpc OpenJDK or IBM will change its policy, Slackintosh will be java free. At least for me ;-) This will not, however, deprive end users from a working version of OOo: we've already a good build which are the ones made by you and Jan, merge your works to have the "perfect slackware style powerpc build" and Adrian will gladly hosts the packages on workaround.ch under the /contrib directory. ciao - -- Marco Bonetti Slackintosh Linux Project Developer: http://www.slackintosh.org Linux-live for powerpc: http://www.slackintosh.org/pub/rsync/mb/linux-live My webstuff: http://sidbox.homelinux.org My GnuPG key id: 0x86A91047 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFG3bAVE3eWALCzdGwRAjDpAJ9DSTtJxBkxXdSoigjnntL1Zw0CLgCeNl4/ 9kxQ3pG4Rn8CpURMgNYdUzU= =+EJ2 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
