Yes.
We're not allowed to repackage or even redistribute IBM java packages as
their policy is much stricter than SUN's one.
Strictly speaking, we've no problem in building the whole distribution,
freezing development, manually installing java and then building OOo,
but this way will offer a logically incoherent product as some of our
sources (OOo) cannot be built unless you do some more manual extra
steps. Not to mention that this will delay further our sloppy "catch up
with Patrick" schedule.
So, unless RH folks will finish build a powerpc OpenJDK or IBM will
change its policy, Slackintosh will be java free. At least for me ;-)
This will not,however, deprive end users from a working version of OOo:
we've already a good build which are the ones made by you and Jan, merge
your works to have the "perfect slackware style powerpc build" and
Adrian will gladly hosts the packages on workaround.ch under the
/contrib directory.
