Hey all--
I found a recent community build of firefox for linux ppc:

(Why doesn't mozilla.org link to these builds?)
The best browser I've been able to compile myself is midori---git or
slackbuild 13.1---with gnutls 2.10 from slackware-current and libsoup
2.32.2. There is a compatibility issue with the version of libsoup at
slackbuilds.org.
