Hello all... ...Threat of Severe Weather today is on the increase. Damaging winds and large hail are the primary threats. SKYWARN activation possible this afternoon, so be on the lookout. Primary freqency will be 146.760 repeater. A cold front will cross southern New England late this afternoon and cause showers and thunderstorms to develop. A warm front and humid airmass in place will increase the threat for thunderstorms producing damaging hail and isolated wind damage after 3pm. Communities in NORTHERN CONNECTICUT...FROM HARTFORD TO STAFFORDSPRINGS...WILLIMANTIC AND PUTNAM...SOUTH CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS...FROM SPRINGFIELD TO STURBRIDGE AND WORCESTER...AND NORTHERN RHODEISLAND FROM COVENTRY TO SMITHFIELD AND WOONSOCKET will be the areas with the highest threat. There is also the chance of a Severe Thunderstorm Watch being post for much of Southern New England....that may be issued later on this afternoon. Storms should form a line, or bow echo ahead of the cold front, with some isolated cells. Storms should progress about 20-25KTs. The cold front should exit are area around 8pm, so most of the severe weather should have diminshed. This will be the last email on this situation.
