Hello all...

...Threat of Severe Weather today is on the increase. Damaging winds and
large hail are the primary threats. SKYWARN activation possible this
afternoon, so be on the lookout. Primary freqency will be 146.760 repeater.

A cold front will cross southern New England late this afternoon and cause
showers and thunderstorms to develop. A warm front and humid airmass in place
will increase the threat for thunderstorms producing damaging hail and
isolated wind damage after 3pm. Communities in NORTHERN CONNECTICUT...FROM
HARTFORD TO STAFFORDSPRINGS...WILLIMANTIC AND PUTNAM...SOUTH CENTRAL
MASSACHUSETTS...FROM SPRINGFIELD TO STURBRIDGE AND WORCESTER...AND NORTHERN
RHODEISLAND FROM COVENTRY TO SMITHFIELD AND WOONSOCKET will be the areas with
the highest threat.

There is also the chance of a Severe Thunderstorm Watch being post for much
of Southern New England....that may be issued later on this afternoon.
Storms should form a line, or bow echo ahead of the cold front, with some
isolated cells. Storms should progress about 20-25KTs.

The cold front should exit are area around 8pm, so most of the severe weather
should have diminshed. This will be the last email on this situation. Hope
to see most of you tomorrow at the Newport SKYWARN training session.
