Hello all...

... A Nor'Easter is headed towards are area, with the risk of a foot or more
of snow. Winter Storm Warnings posted for much of Southern New England. A
potentially
significant nor'easter that has been pounding the Mid-Atlantic coast,
Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey is now headed towards Southern New
England.

...A major winter storm which has been producing heavy snow and icing..as
well as major flooding for the past couple days..is redeveloping off the
North Carolina Coast tonight. This east coast low will then move
north-northeastward up the mid atlantic coast and then off the Southern New
Enland coast by Tues . As a result of this being a slow, moving storm, and
snowfall risk, Winter Storm Warnings are posted.

Snow should begin in our area just after daybreak, and become more steady
during the afternoon time. The snow should be at its heaviest between the
afternoon and evening timeframe, making way for a slow travel home. Also,
Winds will play a role in this event, with speeds of 35-45MPH...with some
gusts as high as 50mph, making way for near or blizzard conditions.

Total snowfall accumlations on this Winter Storm that are expected are:

Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island away from the South Coasts of
Massachusetts and Rhode Island......10-20 Inches

Northern Connecticut, Western and Central Massachusetts....10-20 Inches

South Coastal Massachusetts and South Coastal Rhode Island inlcuding Cape
Cod and the Islands.....6-12 Inches

It is still uncertain if the coastal parts will mix with sleet or rain at
some point, as long as temps stay well below freezing, that will make way for
an all snow event.

...SKYWARN Activation will start around noon time, with Rob(KD1CY) doing ops
at the NWS Taunton using the call (WX1BOX). He may be there from 12pm till
Midnight Tues morning and then reactivate 7am Tues morning. I will be on the
146.760 running a SKYWARN Net...Starting the same time as Rob does...so
please send in reports. This is the first activation of the year, and we
need you. RACES and ARES groups may be activated in this event as well, due
to State Of Emergencys taking place in PA, and other locations.
